Absolutely not. It will be a short-er shifter.

I'm not gonna really try to explain in detail...but a true shortshifter changes the physics of the throw by varying the length of the shifter and changing the pivot point.

I just installed TWM a couple weeks ago.

Pics here https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/...ew=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Notice the to shifter rods when the balls are side by side grin...you'll notice that the top end is shorter but the bottom end is actually a little longer.

anyways point is...don't do the ghetto job and cut the shifter...if you're gonna do that you might as well cut your springs to lower your car...know what i mean?

grab a TWM or B&M or TRD shortshifter (shortest to longest) thumbsup poke

how would you cut it anyway? You would have to cut out a piece...then weld it together and you won't know if it's completely straight. Just buy one...TWM or B&M.

Just cutting the shifter will not give you a short shifter. yes it will be shoter in the end but the throw between gears is the same, it will give the feel but not the added performance. If you look at the TWM (which I have and love it) the end length after the ball is longer. This is what makes is a short shifter, the longer the bottom length the shorter the movement between gears will be, that is what a short shifter is designed to do.

get the trd short shifter has a slighter bent rod and entire new shiftboot and 4 solid metal bushings to keep it locked in it's place.
