Well, I love this car and I have an automatic 2000 Celica. I put in a cold air Intake and after that thought of one day putting in a Turbo. But, instead of being embarassed by having a Turbo in an automatic car, I want to change it first.

So, besides labor, what are all the parts I need to change the automatic 1ZZ-FE engine to a manual one. I just need to know all the different parts and it would be helpful if price was included, thanks.

I figured you would need a new tranny, which would run around 900 dollars I guess, but that definetly couldnt be the only thing I would need.

why dont you just put all the stock parts back and trade it in for a standard, maybe even a 2004. I would think the price would be the same and you wont have to deal with all the changes.
Thats what I would do.

Well if I did trade it in, I would lose a lot of money because I just bought it a couple of months back. I paid about 11500 for it so I got a good deal, only 40k miles on a 2000 celica, but I dont think I could find anywhere to buy it for 11500 casue thats not how dealerships work.

it would probably cost you the difference for the change over, especially the labor cost. Is your car already payed off?

My car isnt paid off, but I could pay it off right now if I wanted to change. I feel kind of dumb just having my car for a few months, but I want a manual so bad.

Unless does anyone find any cons to manual driving, ie driving in different weather. Cause Ive driven manual and I love it.

Only if you are in heavy traffic, bumper to bumper type. other than that, standard is the way to go. goodluck on making the swap thumbsup

dealers will make you think they are bending over backwards to get you into a new car...usally if you are trading up they will give you what you want on your used one.. but make sure they are not doing that whole b.s. of adding more money to the final cost of the new car thing just cause they are giving you retail on your used car. The thing about celicas is that there isnt a hug demand for them ( at least in my area) so they really wont feel like they need to give you a good deal on your car because they may be worried that they might not be able to sell it. if you had a brand new sienna van that might be a different story..they can't even keep those family mobiles on the lot to save their lives. The honda dealership in my area can't even get rid of their 2004 honda civic si at 16,500 the retail is between 19,500 and 21,500 pretty sad if you ask me. I havent seen a celica on the toyota lot in 6 months.
