dunno if it will void your warrenty. but it doesn't matter since the supercharger won't fit under a celica's hood anyways. unless someone finally produced a custom hood for it. the charger is for the corolla and matrix

the hood is only like $500 now...I forgot the link to the thread, but I looked and its down to $500 for the hood, and since its trd it shouldn't void the warranty

Just to let you know if you are seriously thinking about getting the trd supercharger. You need to get a powerfc or try something like greddy emanage to get the supercharger to work since the celica ecu is different from the corolla/matrix. You can buy the hood, and then buy the supercharger w/o the ecu(saves you something like 700 dollars) and get a powerfc (or try to get something like emanage to work it). Your probably better off waiting for trd to release it for the celica (who knows how long) since you were talking about a warranty. Its a 12 month warranty if you install it by anyone other than toyota;remainder of powertrain warranty if toyota installs it. I have the hood coming soon, I should get it either saturday or sometime next week. Ill post pics when I get it. If you (or anyone) is still interested in getting the hood send me a pm and ill give you the email address of edrick who can get you the hood for 799 shipped. thumbsup Its pricey I know but I personally wanted something unique and plan on getting the supercharger. O and installation of the supercharger would be about 600 but I have heard some corollas got theirs put in for around 350-400, just depends on your toyota.

I didn't think that the TRD Supercharger would work on the celica since it was for the corolla and matrix...

They have completely differenet engines...

also it looks that if it works on the VVTL-I corolla it will work on the GTS.

The supercharger is the 1.8 liter supercharger that will work for the celica/corolla/and matrix. It is the ecu that is different for the three however, so the corolla/matrix ecu's will not work for the celica. It has already been tried by members. No it will not work for a GTS. GTS owners have to go with blitz i think it was for a supercharger. Edit: As far as I heard the supercharger would not work for the GTS at all but if your saying it works for the corolla (GTS engine) version who knows...

From what I have heard, the 1.8L supercharger from TRD will fit the 1ZZ-FE engine. This is the same engine in the Celica GT / Matrix XR(S) / Corolla S. This will NOT fit the GTS, for they have a different engine (of course, Duh!)

And like SLVCELI said, the ECU's are all different (Celica to Matrix/Corolla). Its a wonderful thought, but no TRD supercharger will fit a GTS.

Not true about the ECU. TRD has developed an ECU that will work for the Celica with this supercharger.

Read the first paragraph about a supplemental TRD ECU. Unless they mean powerfc by supplemental. Which I doubt since they would not be able to call it TRD.

Also not true.

Here is what TRD said about the 2ZZ (GTS).

"Although essentially stock, the car's 1.8-liter 2ZZ twin-cam 4-cylinder powerplant sports a modified electronic control module, forged JE pistons, stiffer valve springs and a TRD supercharger that boosts output from 180 to 247 bhp @ 7400 rpm. "

zero...you have to get the AIT hood (pm me for a better price), and then wait for trd to release it for the celica. It will NOT work using the corolla or matrix ecu's. Or get a powerfc (or maybe emanage) like i said before.

cooltoy... the sema car was a one time deal. You are right about the ecu but they have not put it into production. That car cost 40 something thousand, im just hoping the ecu is not a huge part of that price tag. We just have to wait for them to hopefully put it into production. thumbsup And as far as the gts supercharger goes, i seriously doubt they will put it into production because of the compression (think thats what it is) of the gts.

Let me sum it all up for those who are looking for a supercharger
If your looking for the high horsepower numbers this is not the way to go.

GTS=Blitz around 6000.

GT=1)wait for trd to release it for the celica and spend 800hood+2600superchargerw/ecu+600install=4000total
2)buy trd supercharger w/o the ecu, buy hood, use powerfc or something like emanage. s/c w/oecu=1750 +800hood+~800foremanagew/ all software needed to run the supercharger+300 for tuning+600install=4250 total (not sure if emanage will work). Add ~ 400 to go with powerfc which should work.

Positives for the trd s/c are that you get warranty, and that price includes a hood with it.
Negatives to the trd s/c is that it costs a lot and wont give you horsepower numbers like a Turbo.

So if I go this route my warranty will still stand with Toyota? even with the powerfc or emanage?

RyOISe...What was the point of your reply?

If you get it installed by someone other than toyota your warranty is for 12 months. Toyota will obviously not hook it up with the powerfc or emanage for you so I have no idea how you could keep the powertrain warranty with that route.

Hopefully im just misunderstanding what your trying to say but last I checked you can still get a supercharger for say the 97-01 camry's. thumbsup Why would this be any different since all they need is the ecu and not even the supercharger made.
