Mr.Clean can lick my balls

so i bought the auto-dry wash thing today and tried it out. i did everything as directed and the car even looks worse than before i "washed" it. i mean, im sure it wuldve come out well if i had dried it with a shammy but im not supposed to have to do that. instead of leaving water marks it left water streaks, so i guess it does whats its supposed to. and on top of that i cant return it b/c the f'n printer at advanced auto parts wasnt working so i didnt get a receipt. i wasnt too worried bout it because i herd so many good things bout the car wash here before.

I've heard taht yo ucan't use in direct sunlight and you have to spend like an hour useing the mist rinse. I've never used it so that's just what I've heard. confused

I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

only probs. i have had is when you wash in direct sunlight, or your car is hot. then i have found it leaves soap streaks and usually just going over the car again with the rinse usually solves the prob. works great for me other than that prob. thumbsup

Water spots are from the minerals in the water, nothing is going to change that. You collect rain water & use that to rinse, it would work better. thumbsup

The autodry car wash works! It leaves watermarks on windows sometimes, but the polymer based soap is resistant to most dirt! It acts like a wax shield! It won't solve all your problems, but its pretty damn good, imo. thumbsup

The picture in my signature was taken after I washed my car that day. I ofcourse, used glass cleaner before, but thats beside the point. I still prefer hand drying though. idunno

I love the Autodry stuff. I use it in direct sunlight, in 90-100+ degree weather, and I don't have any problems, other than the windows and moonroof (I go over those with Windex afterward anyway).

Rinse, soap/scrub (in sections), re-soap the whole car, rinse the whole car, then mist the whole car (starting from the top, working down).

Works great for me!

Is the water in your area really bad? The water in my school area (Davis) is infamous for being soo incredibly bad. It leaves deposits on everything and tastes like crap even after Brita filtering. puke thumbsdown

I used it and I never had a problem. It does a great job. Just do it in the evening not too dark or too sunny. But I have used it 4-5 times and no streaks yet.

People with silver or white celi's don't have problems with water spots, my cursed carbon blue is a pain in the ass. The only way to get it truly clean is to wash, wax & buff it. Gee I wonder why I just leave it dirty. angry

I had the same problem. My '87 GTS is black and I swear the '01's carbon blue is HARDER than the black to keep from showing spots after I wash it. My experience with Mr. Clean AutoDry has been GREAT! You still have to pay attention to detail and be meticulous but its nothing compared to trying to rush around your car with a chamois drying up excess water. And usually with the chamois, all that work still ended up with some spots. Autodry is still work but with a much better chance at the results you want. Its made my car washing much less of a gamble. If you can wash it in the shade, early in the day, and, if possible, on low wind days, your results will most probably improve. Hey, we gotta give the Mr. Clean folks some love...they do use a Celica in their print ads after all. thumbsup

My only problem with it is making sure I hit every spot with the mist crap. I miss one spot and the whole side of the celi looks like crap. Its great when you get every spot though. & its on carbon blue.

Thats a real good point. I've had that happen a few times, too, and, because the whole car's still wet, you can't really tell what area's you've already hit with "the mist." I try to "section" the car off in my mind and my approach and then hit any overlap areas. Geez, that sounds more like martial arts than car washing, dudn't it. ("I am a fifth level black belt in jeet kune do, a master of karate and kick boxing, proficient in the disciplines of the dragon and tiger forms of ancient kung fu, and a student in the arcane practices and mystic art of...Mr. Clean AutoDry!" Waaaaiiiiiiyah...Spray...Mist!)

RookieGTS has a good approach. It never hurts to follow up with a good cotton towel.

Until next time...practice your forms! tongue

worked fine for me...did you rinse the water off with regular water before using the auto-dry stuff. If you just leave the soap i could see it having problems, so i rinse it off with normal water first then hit the entire car with the auto-dry. I wash my car in the heat sometimes and never had a problem.
