forced induction

i was told that our engine is very hard to put any type of forced inductin on. Like we would need to get some ECU upgrades to tune everything properley. Is this true or was this Toyota Tech talking out of his ass?

ic you have a GT and who ever told you that is fucking wrong and stupid. right now a GT is really easy to do forced induction and push 304WHP. there is a GTS on process that would probably push over 400WHP doing i think 16psi, so who ever told you that was wrong, our engines are good for forced induction, the gt more because it has a 8 something in compresion ration, GTS have 11 so if you have 8 you can bust a lot more, thats y its easy to forced induct a gt, but the gts can be tuned so yeah, you can forced induct celicas, of course if you have the money

Wrong on a few things

Compression Ratio GT 10:1 / GTS 11.5: 1

The GTS Turbo is pushing 241 TO THE GROUND at 8Psi.

Not sure on GT Turbo.. .but if you go any higher then 8psi on GTS you risk blowing it cant take much more.

GT or GTS, to get 300WHP, low compression pistons are required.

Yeah you cant get that much out of stock internals, and if you have the $$ for a Turbo I would hope you can get an ECU upgrade as well. If you want better then 240 to the ground prepare to spend some serious $$ and time.

yeah, and on a gts if you Turbo it you should set the lift to engage passt the limiter, otherwise you risk increased wear with the dual boosts.

It's all about tuning and replacing parts if you have a GTS. If you have the money, the sky is the limit!

yea. i have a gt. i know i would have to replace the pistons and get low compression ones which cost about $800. I was looking at the stafford Turbo kit which puts out 233whp @ 8psi. what else would be needed to replace? I know the ECU would be one thing.

celica can handle 11 lbs of boost on stock internals. and will do ALOT more then 240 whp wink

removing lift causes you to LOSE a lot of power.

but since this guys has a gt we wont worry about all that.

I watched them install a SF Turbo into my teamates GT this weekend. once he hits the dyno we'll see first hand what kinda boost and power it will make. I also suggest the PFC for tuning cause it will be easier and you'll make more power IMO.

the SF kits are very nice.

thanks lucky. Find out that dyno ASAP! I would rather spend the money on this than getting body work. Sleeper would be really nice.

00celica00gt, If the guy was a legitimate Toyota tech, he could've told you about the TRD supercharger kit, it will bolt up to your car, it comes with a reprogramed ECU, and is an easy install for a guy like him.

The only issue is Hood clearance, but an aftermarket Hood with more clearance(or the one that TRD was working on for the kit) will fix that problem. I've also seen cars where they cut a hole in the Hood, and add a Hood blister to fit the supercharger.

You definitely have options on a GT

buying the SF Turbo kit is a bit expensive. maybe you should buy a WRX Turbo for cheap and do all the custom piping, then again the custom part is expensive but hey its worth it, youll be ripping up the road with a crazy ass Turbo!

I asked him about the TRD supercharger. He said it is worthless and only gives about 25-30wph.

I heard its hard to fit a Turbo unless you move the fuse box. Super should fit easily, on the other hand. Find a Hood that fits it, too.

I'll stick with N/A parts, like exhuast, headers, and Intake. F/I is too expensive!

from what I read your gunna need to upgrade your internals.. To be safe.. I mean yes you can run like 11psi as ^^^ people were saying but how long is your engine gunna last.. Reasonably if you want to have your engine run for more than a week and still be pushing 11psi than your gunna need to upgrade your internals!

Quote:
right now a GT is really easy to do forced induction and push 304WHP.
After a lot of money... The only guy that has even reached that is C2Gas and Other Guy (Forgot his name) Both spent around 8Grand if not more.. If your gunna do Turbo don't go for the quick boost.. think about spending abit more and getting it tunned just right. If all about how you use your power!

As far as most those kits... the ONLY kit that you should be looking at is C2Gas! Please guys read up on these kits.. I don't mean to bash other kits but just read some of the feedback from them!

Quote:

Piston's Rods and vavles and valve springs. Cyl. Heads.. List goes if you wanna run it safe.

The shop that is doing my build has told me that they willn't use any of the stock internals after I boost my celica! They also are giving life-time warrently and I also going to run a 375hp Garrett t3/t4 Turbo.

I ask you sir... Did that engine blow within a week? I bet it did!

This is C2Gas's Engine List
He has ALOT MORE THAN INTERNALS
Celica GT 6 speed
C2 st3 Turbo (14 psi)~300whp (not dynoed yet)
Crower rods.,Wiseco 8,8:1 pistons
Ported and mod. c.head
VENOM nitro,
Greddy e-manage
PE 550cc, PE fuel pump
Oil cooler

Quote:

Nitrous! is the way to go! if thats what your looking for or your can simply get new Headers. PFC,get it tunned!, Exhaust. TPR Intake. and other mis. stuff

Quote:

We'll see what you say about that we go Flying past you with F/I. May be expensive but so is a fun hobbie. What better things to spend money on.. hahah rofl

Hope this helps abit wave
