ive heard that if the car is being used for daily driving a regular Intake would damage your engine, and cause hp loss. is this true? is it permanent? i would prefer to get a cai, but there i cant seem to find ne thing for our 5th gens (set aside henry vo's Intake).

if you looked on c.net you would have found 2 people trying to sell their iceman cai's. I've heard that the "regular" Intakes off of ebay just need better filters and it's fine. I wouldn't do too much to the engine, why do you think highly paid, top of the class engineers at toyota made the air box that way? Maximum efficiency in every category ranging from powerband to gas mileage, everything was taken into consideration.

thanks bloodred, i was gonna buy one of the cheap Intakes on ebay and slap a K & N on there. but i heard because ram air forces so much hot air to the engine, i heard it damages it over time. btw why ppl sellin their icemans? something wrong with them?

not that there's anything wrong with their icemans. More like people thought it was time to sell their car so they need the OEM parts back so it's easier to sell or they got a new Intake.

I got my Intake from pep boys, it was the one made for the civic. This was before there were so many available on eBay >.< but i like it. Just had to cut the pipe a bit to make it fit but other than that no problems with it thumbsup
