As long as the ticket is between 1-30 mph over the marked speed limit, you should be able to go on court Supervision for 3 months and it will never get onto your record (thats if you have been ticket free for one year.)
Why is your ticket 275 dollars?
In IL between 20-30mph over is only a 95 dollar ticket.

Sure they are different opinions on here...
here's my view:

Just Paying ticket=Bending over to PoPo
Court Supervision=Chain around your neck
Enlisting Attorney=Smart Move!

From "fighting a speeding ticket" thread:

Me:
that's a good question because I'm curious on it too, and the guy who brought it up has yet to answer my latest questions (if you scroll up). But all in all, even if it is true what he is saying, I still see it as losing control of the situation by putting yourself at the mercy of the police and the courts. What if you DO get another ticket within those 90 days for BS reasons. Then you would be definitely screwed because both tickets would go on your record, and it would be much harder from then on to use an attorney to get rid of speeding tickets given your blemished record. I say go attorney from the very start, and always from then on. It's the surest route. I only have parking tickets on my record and my insurance has not gone up a penny.

It won't go up.

Maryland doesn't have reciprocity with Virginia.

Either way, I've gotten tickets before out of state, and nothing happened. spineyes

Darren, that might be true, but I got a ticket in VA once and nothing happened. I even called my insurance company and asked "dumb" questions like what ifs, and they said 99% of the time nothing happens with minor things like 1-3 pt tickets. However, DUI, DWI, 4+ points and things like that are reported.

It's all about staying below the radar.

rice true I'll give you that, but it doesn't mean that it can't happen. you were probably just a lucky one depending on what county you were in and such grin

and for the record 91 in a 65 isn't "minor"
