i just got an '02 gts after i totalled my '00 gt. i'm gonna pump the money into it to make it a showcar and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what kind of Turbo kit i could put on it. i've seen/heard a lot of good things about a kit that comes from xs engineering and also the blitz supercharger. have any of you guys heard horror stories about mixing the new generation celica and a Turbo? my dad is an ASE certified technician and a rep for snap-on, so it will get installed right, i just wanna make sure that i get a quality kit that will give me the most boost for the money. so any suggestions, please let me know. thanks!

- go with either the Stafford Turbo or c2gas's setup... I'd prefer the latter

you will learn that for beginning a show car it is more important to have "the look" then any real Performance. there have been many cars to win shows that dont even run spineyes you will be better off spending all that money on name brand ricey lookin mods then to buy an actual Turbo. you will also wanna learn to become VERY good at detailing the car inside and out.

some common show mods that wouldve been expensive if they were real ...

Roll cage - Why buy one when painted PVC pipe looks the same and can be removed? (very common show mod)

turbo - why buy a Turbo when you can make it "look" like you have one for 1/4 of the cost?
buy a larger Turbo from a junk yard and have it chromed, then get some short 2.5" custom pipes made and chromed, buy a few connectors and put stickers like Turbo xs on the silicone.
then attach the pipes to the Turbo, lay the pipes in that lead to the back of the engine, make sure your fake Intercooler is HIGHLY visible (this proves you have a Turbo)

chrome and neons - chrome everypiece of your engine you can see. then add neons and strobes throughout the engine bay and headlights.

paint - paint the car some ungodly bright uncommon color (may look ugly but you will get pts for uniqueness)

rims - put the biggest rims you can fit into the wheel well. whether the car can drive like that or not doesnt matter. (chrome and spinners is a plus still as well)

system - the crazier the fibreglass job the better. also try tofit a 15" sub or 2 into the mix.

interior - less then 6 screens is a shame. one under the hood in the engine is bonus smile

wing - gotta have a big wing

theme - find some crazy theme to follow and setup your car with lots of figurines and stuff the day of the show.

exhaust - gotta have dual exhaust

steering wheel - have to get a removable one and make sure its high price name brand.

and finally vinyl - when creating your roll call the best thing to remember is that if they cant see it they cant prove it isnt there smile so you can now have stickers for things like crower cams, clutch/flywheel (pick the most rare and expensive of everything), just go all out with internal claims and try to fit in a fake dyno sheet of 300+ hp somewhere.

do all of this and you will have a great show car. BTW this was not a joke.

haha i gotta drive this thing too man! i'm actually buying one of those square cars that nissan, toyota, honda use to make in the late 80's/early 90's so i'll not put miles on my gts when i drive to work and school. i've already got the trd body kit, trd exhaust, and i just bought a badass alpine receiver and some jl audio subs and an amp. i'm gonna carbon fiber the middle console as well and put an indiglo gauge plate in as soon as i find one i like. also, i need a gauge pod for the panel leading from the dash to the roof on the drivers side. and an S2000 antennae. my dad owns a repair center, so i get 18% discount on all trd products from the dealer thumbsup too bad they're still waaay too high with the discount frown

I'm sooo not joking. theres a few local clubs out here that are hardcore show only and they use a lot of those tricks. team showcase is the one I stole the pvc pip roll cage from. they slap them in for the show and then pull them out.

If you want to do the show thing those ideas will work. one of the first show celicas to have a 3sgte engine didnt run when it was shown. it simply had a chromed out 3sgte in it. thumbsup you now know why I dont do the show thing lol I hit the burnout box way to often to keep my wheel wells clean lol. pop my valve cover though and I bet its cleaner then 1/2 the cars there grin
