I am not sure how it works but it might be wrong because its sitting directly in sunlight so the readout might be higher than it really is??? I dunno

Yes I'm serious. don't do doughnuts just drive in a circle or two and it should reset it. It should tell you that in the owners manual.

Tony if the driving in circles doesn't work then take it to the dealer. It might be the little computer chip.

I have a GTS and no temp readout! That'd be cool but not needed I guess.

And I doubt the sun has anything to do with it cause the sensor wouldn't be put in the mirror itself or anywhere where the sun would affect it. thumbsup

a friend tried telling me that the readout was taken from the tires. last time i checked there were no wires that needed to be hooked up when changing rims/tires, plus the temp of the road would be a lot hotter that the air.

by the way, my friend is an idiot.

I have a GT and my came with the digital mirror, here is a pic.

[Linked Image from memimage.cardomain.com]

I know the sensor is clipped to the front bumper, check to see if anything is blocking the sensor or touching it, this could be causing the bad readings.

I dont have a pic but I know mine clips to the front of my action package bumper. It is in the shape of a thermometer and is made of black plastic. Its only like 2 or 3 inches long and connects to the cars wiring harness. Hope that helps. If it is not connected directly to your bumper look for it directly behind the bumper. That could also be the reason why you are getting bad readings?

I have the same as Vaio...and had a similar problem to yours...in the morning when its cool out...with key in the "on" position...

try holding down the temp button you will see the "F" flashing...release the temp button then press it again...you should now see a blining "C" then let the thing blink...it will eventually stop and your temp read out will be in Celcius now.

Repeat this to change it back to Fahrenheit...all your doing is switching between measurement modes Fahrenheit and Celcius...this should in return re calibrate the thermometer...oh beofre you do this its a good idea to check that sensor (mine looks like a blacked out XMas tree bulb)...if this doesnt work take it in, the thermistor or IC is messed up.

well if you know the temperature, then you dont need to fix the one in the car...
