just installed my MTEC lighting package low beams and fogs. look very cool.

i already liked the way the headlight beam shown on other vehicles at night with that line across other peoples cars. and now i can really see it a lot more clearly with the MTECs. if anyone does get the low beams, you must get the fogs to match. i had changed the low beams and not the fogs first. did not look right. so i made sure to change the fogs.

I just got my MTECs today grin, but I just realized that I need to get replacement lights for the DRLs. The MTECs don't really match that yellow DRL bulb.

BTW, whats the part# for that bulb(9596??)? confused I don't see it listed in 'Tech Info'.

sweet, thats what I needed, thumbsup the 194/168. I am still curious as to why that is there... because it really isn't the DRL, the 9005's are. Maybe just to be cool, and fill out the head lamp unit. cool

Before I say anything, I do want to say that the MTECs make the car look a lot better. thumbsup The white glow is much much better both inside and outside the car.

Call me crazy though, but I think the stock lighting (SLYVANIAs???) had further 'range' then the MTECS. confused Has anyone else thought this? It seems like my stock HIGHBEAMS projected 'more light', and the light went 'further'. Or maybe its that the stock lighting was a 'clearer' light. confused

Is it legal to have a non-amber turning signal?

amber are pretty much the legal light everywhere...you need it...you can have clear corners but need amber lights in the headlight.

what do you mean legal?
Are you talking, will you get pulled over by impersonating a police car?
or
Are the lights so bright that they are brighter than most HID systems?
or
Are white lighting is illegal and only fuzzy yellow tinted lighting is acceptable?

I dont understand your question...

...

If the bulbs are not DOT approved, will you get in trouble for using them?

Almost all Nokya, APC and PIAA bulbs resemble the look of "specialty" headlight systems found in some of today's newest vehicles. Although it's true they are not all DOT approved, you should not let this worry you. These non-DOT approved brands are among the most popular after-market specialty items and their use is only growing. We can honestly (really!) say that we have never [ever] heard of any legal issue arising from the use of these bulbs, which as we say, look just like most of the [Xenon and projector] lights you see being factory-installed on new luxury vehicles. The overall point here is why would anyone notice non-HID bulbs when the BMW next to you is lighting up the entire street w/HID?

idk never heard that and even if they did it wouldn't matter because the MTEC are a lot BRIGHTER enabling you to see a lot BETTER.

I think the white lights are brighter, but reflect off the road differently than you may be used to with the stock dull yellows. Supposedly thats why fog lights are generally yellow. So you it may seem that you are projecting less light with the whites, but technically you are projecting more, because it usually projects a higher wattage than your stock 55w bulbs. Correct me if I'm wrong.
