i'm just wondering why a lot of people don't have it..is it the price? or is it just bad product? i think it's pretty nice..240 hp..makes the engine look good too.

i thought it was 25 hp to the wheels.
and its 240 when you boost the compression

I think its about 60whp. For less money, you could build a custom Turbo that could add up to and sometimes over 100whp.

once again you mis-informed people are opening your mouth. The supercharger, while not boasting as much top end power as a Turbocharger, makes power across the board.. watch a supercharged celi and Turbocharged celi drag race or circuit race and see who can get off the line and pull out of those turns quicker.

supercharger is slightly better for low end power (celicas weakness), but i think many people dont get this SC because of the return they get from payin so much.. too expensive for the HP output it gives

Turbos do offer more "bang for the buck", but most superchargesrs are simple bolt-ons that require little additional work, and there's that trade off between all around power and high-end power. I also think people get Turbos because they love to hear it whine up and then hear the blow-off valve (I know I do!).

well said.. thumbsup and consider that some Turbos can harm your engine in the long run

OMG no, HP isn't about what your max power is. Horsepower don't work like that. A stock GTS has a Horsepower rating of 180.. that doesn't mean when you start it up and drive at 20mph in second gear that you've got 180 HP at the wheels.. 180 means that the engine will produce a maximum of 180hp at it's peak. The blitz supercharger will create about 50 more peak horsepower, but when your driving at 20mph in second gear and punch it you'll have more power across the powerband *almost* instantly. Unlike a Turbo, depending on the size, where it takes time to spool up. Take a look at a dyno chart and you'll see what I mean.

Since you get instant boost with a supercharger, your torque curve is very flat. You can get a very similar dyno chart if you use a properly sized Turbo. I do agree with Death, it's better to have more of a flat power band then a spike.

ok uh.."OMG" i know how a s/c and Turbo n nitrous works n what it duz...my origional question was was poweroutput it gives to an engine at any point..has nothing to do with a Turbo celica and a s/c celica racing together...so why don't you post sumthin more useful.

from what i understand, it's like $6000 for parts + labor. and dyno at 193 whp...it's not a lot...

anyone in here ever driven the blitz s/c for the gts?

I doubt it.

Personally having drag raced my team mates car for him, the system is very comparable to n20 except off boost response is pretty shoddy.

it is a clutch driven s/c, which means its not always on and is set to kick on at 90% throttle, which means it feels just like n20, once your in boost yes power is linear, just like n20, but the sudden rush of 40-50 whp and 30wtq makes it not very great for track/circut racing as you wouldn't be able to full throttle corner exits for fear of breaking the tires loose when that extra 50whp kicks on.

for this reason alone a Turbo'd gts would be a better choice and have more "linear" of a power band for track racing.

if a company can design a s/c system that is always on and not clutch driven (for example 03 cobras) then the s/c would be an optimum set up for circut racing for the instant throttle response.

There is a way to bypass the clutch, that dude over at NC had it.

the S/C dyno graph and the nitrous graph looked very similar if I remember correctly.

i have heard that superchargers are recommended for bigger engines.. just wondering wouldn't it be better for the gts since it already has crazy top end and (as most people say) poor low end torque??

he didn't bypass the clutch he tried a few different things,

he relocated the supercharger before the throttle body and found out it didn't work like he thought it would, so he moved it back,

he also installed a bypass valve to help with off boost throttle response since it sucks pretty badly.


If anyone has i'm imagining hotchkis has on their track celica because the blower looks like the same uinit
