I know that there have been a lot of posts about changing the AC light colors..people have used neon tubes and actetate, but some also used nail polish, etc. I was just wondering if anyone knew if "glass stain" would work. It says it sticks to glass and plastic and can be applied with a paintbrush. If I just peel off the green stuff, and paint on this glass stain stuff, do you think it will work?

Or...if I try it and it doesnt work, is there a way to change it back to normal (i.e. put the green stuff back on)?

Peeling off the green stuff is not as easy as it seems, and by removing the lights, you could damage the board.

It's that brittle.

The green stuff comes off in pieces. It's very hard to take off in one piece.

it's just a plastic cap, it comes right off.

If you use window stain, it will burn and smoke, causing a short.

Trust me, I did it. angry

burn and smoke? can that bulb really get hot enough to burn it? if so, why doesn't it melt the green stuff, or the acetate?

These bulbs get hot. Just don't mess with the board, you will thank me later. I wish I would have known the same before I broke mine.

if you plan on painting your center console plastics decide if you want the little AC pictures. depending on the paint you use, you may see them or no longer see them.

so the plan that you have would be futile in the future.

I painted my AC plastics solid so no more lights can shine thru.
