How did you not notice your car feeling extra sluggish?

What do you mean by "overheating"? If no warning light came on, was your temp gauge way up or something?

I've done it for maybe a half block, but you can REALLY tell when you take your foot off the gas. The car slows down in 4th gear like it's in 2nd or something.

I doubt you hurt you engine by doing this. It would just be added resistance like if you were towing a boat or something. Only your brakes would get messed up.

uh, maybe you need your e-brake readjusted or something? or maybe you don't pull up that hard on it? or maybe you modded your car so much, it is powerful enough to haul your rear end around without hardly noticing anything... rofl
