Hi everybody! i've got a 2000 GTS.. this is my first Toyota and my first problem.. i got the car from a salvage auction.. right now everything its fixed.. i've a last problem that i am trying to fix it for a week.. the engine idels at 2.000 rpm.. Once its cold.. it idels at 1.500rpm.. than when i'm trying to drive it.. it goes streight to 2.000 rmp and it wont go down.. at the begining i was missing all the vacum sensors and the wholle Intake system.. right now i'm restoring everytging under the hood..

CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME WITH THIS HUGE PROBLEM..

Clean your MAF.

Have your AIC checked by your dealer.

the ECU will automatically adjust the idle to 1K RPM after you move the throttle cable.

Reset it

i did all the above..can it be some vacum leak?

Does it only do this when the engine is cold, or does it do this all the time?

If it does it all the time, then you may need your IAC valve replaced. I have seen a few peoples idle fluctuate all the way up to 5k RPM.

But, if your engine only idles like this the first five minutes or so since you started the car, then you're fine.

i think theres a part on toyotas called Idle Control Valve. A common problem on Toyotas are that they idle low. In this case, it's idling higher. Probably its that idle control valve or wutever it is
