hey I'm getting a check engine light, the codes are P0135 and P0141. I know they are both the O2 sensors, but is there a way to fix this cheapely. O2 sensors are expensive especially for 2. I've the Spark plug Non-fouler trick but the O2 sensors are too long. I might try putting on a resister but I was wondering if anyone has this problem and if anyone else has any ideas on how to fix this problem. currently I'm burning gas out of the ass, so I have to constantly reset the ECU

Thanks guys

is that the running rich CEL? I got a running rich CEL i believe it was PO172, but i thought it was an O2 sensor and took it into toyota to repair under warantee, comes back it was a bad MAFS and i supposable needed a new air filter. I paid $65 for the diagnosis, then turned around and cleaned my MAFS instead of buying a $171 one from toyota and the car is running great, i feel a defininate increase in power and a much smoother power curve. I had never cleaned my MAFS before, since i'm running a paper filter i didn't see a need to, but it was definitely dirty. I recommend cleaning your MAFS to see if the problem still exists in your O2 sensors.

It could be that the connection to your O2 sensors are shot, it may not be the sensor itself.

Use a voltmeter/continuity meter to test the sensors, along with their connections.

I will find instructions in a minute...

Ha, it just says to replace the sensor. spineyes

Not too sure, but let me look into it a little more. I will most likely post again tomorrow (about to leave work), but let me know for sure what your test results are.

Yeah, you will.

You could look up the ECU terminals in the Service Manual (in the gallery section of this site), and find out which terminals the sensors pertain to. Would save you some moolah.

But anyways, good luck. If they want you to buy a new ECU, tell them to get fucked.

One appears on eBay every now and then.
