no its strictly for show, you know, just flip on the lights, and leave the car off, so people pass by and are like "whoooo that looks hot!" grin grin grin

I dont know that still might be over kill. I would do footwells, under the seats, and little LEDs in the air vent.

How its going to look aside, you need to use EL wire. Your never going to find tubes small enough to do it all.

http://www.elwirecheap.com

Thats where I get my EL wire, could not have done my shift boot or my climate control lights with out it.

Link for the page with the wire by the foot, I used 3.2mm but you can get as small as 2.3mm.

You'll also need to get power inverters to get them to light up as bright a possible, that site sells them. They have a few choices based on how many feet of wire each one will be lighting up.

I have one lighting up 6' feet of the stuff. Make life easy on yourself and be sure to go with the "ez clip" option on all the parts.

How bright are the 6" ones? Will they light up a footwell or do you have to go with the bigger ones?

If your talking about neon tubes, I think thats to small. 9" or up. I use 9" in my footwells and underseats.

I use them so they must be, my brother has 12" in his car, looks the same.

You can get a pair (9") with a transformer for $20 from the neon edge, here is a link:

http://www.theneonedge.com/interior/interiorunderseat.htm

They call it an underseat kit, trust me its what you want.

well place the neons so that you can't see the bulb directly, only the light it emits.

Why don't you guys get CCFL's ?
they don't produce that much heat and are much brighter.. I use em all the time.. they worket perfect on a 12v with a nice inverter in between.. they are awesome and as WyTe_91_FuRy_GTS.. to over-do things is a bad habit.. if you really wanna do it go for led's in the small places.. they are brighter then Neon's anyways.. and connection is easy as well.. it even saves you lots of problems on the placement.. since they are way smaller

Yeah, your setup is muy rice. Use CCFL for the footwells and skip below the seats (#2) because they're bright enough. Why you would put light in your ashtray is beyond me confused. I'd gut it out and use it for your lighting switchport. Just do the lower vents and not the upper.

For the speakers and tweeter domes, use LEDs. Use a couple of colors, not just red. Makes it look more interesting, just don't use too many colors, it will look worse. thumbsdown Don't use too much lighting either. For LEDs, try local auto parts store.

Red would be the main color. Use in the footwells and use blue as the accent like in the speakers, tweets, and A/C vents. It would look hot. There isnt really any other color of neon you could use. THere is pink, red, green, orange, blue, red, aqua, white thats all i can think of anymore?
