This one...

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-EFFXthonG1n...1&avf=N&search= [crutchfield.com]

Now it is pretty pricey, I think, but it seems nice! (I like the fold-up idea, as well as the color changing... I like things like that ;P )

Anyway, do you folks think it's worth the price? Or should I go with something a bit cheaper?
(I will use CDR's, and am planning on getting it set up with XM or SIRIUS (whichever it comes ready for), so I need those features.)

If I decide to get it, I can get it like $100 cheaper at eTronics, and buy the installation kits and such seperately, if it turns out to be a little cheaper.

ALSO, if you have any suggestions concerning what unit to get, lemme know please! smile

Thanks!

If you plan to hook an amp to your stereo for either subs or your speakers, that is crap. Only 2 volt preouts. 4 volts should be the minimum for anything that expensive thumbsdown

Alrighty. Thanks for turning me away from that one, since that's a bit expensive. wink

I'm not much on car stereo systems, all I know is it needs to be satellite ready and MP3/WMA capable.

What else should I be looking for, good brands, models?

Kenwood, JVC, Alpine. Stay away from Sony!!!

Heres a JVC KD-LH300. My personal favorite! It retails for $249.00 and has more than you really need, but still looks great! thumbsup MP3/WMA/CD-R/RW compatible with Sirius satellite radio. Motorized flip down faceplate. Best graphics i've seen in its price range. Its 4v so you get better signal to noise ratio and better frequency range because it delivers more power to your amps.

Ooo, I'm liking that one!

And it can never have more than I need, I love features, especially for lower prices! (the PiCT technology sounds cool).

Ok, how does this sound...

If I order from CarDomain.com:

Stereo Unit: $249.95
Scosche TA02 Car Stereo Wiring Harness: FREE
Scosche TA2045 Car Stereo Installation Kit: FREE
SoundDomain.com Connector Kit Head Unit Accessory: FREE
Additional Savings: -$45

Total (without shipping): $204.95

Sound fair?

I could get the stereo from eTronics for $172.99, but I have to buy all the wiring and install kits seperately, so it would be easier to just go with CarDomain, eh?

I wish I had ordered from cardomain.com. I went and got it MSRP from Best Buy. Not really, a little negotiating can get it down a bit.

That one looks nice too, but again.. $650...

I could probably manage a whole system with the extra $450 I'd save by buying the other one! grin

Plus they have a 105% best price deal...
So if you find it somewhere else for less, they give you a discount of 105% of the difference.
Since it's 172.99 at eTronics, that'd be about another $80 off.
I sent it to them, wonder if they'll make the deal wink
Or maybe they'll factor in the free stuff and the -45 $, who knows.

any brand is good now days. Just get something you think looks nice in your price range. If you are adding a system then make sure it has 2 or 3 outputs. Whatever you like just get it. We all have different taste and prolly not the same as you.

the cash you're spending on that head unit is for all the bells and whistles that come with the apperance. Get an eclipse or alpine, they aren't as pretty but they have the best sound quality, and thats what it's about anyway, don't be an audio ricer :-p

No, its about sounding great and looking good doing it cool. If you have a loud system with cheap-looking faceplate, you WILL be laughed at. laughsilly

If <$300, reconsider. I noticed Clarion sponsored West Coast Customs so they'll put their headunits in peoples cars on Pimp My Ride. What advertising! thumbsdown
