I park my car in the driveway next to a big tree that harbors lots of bees that like to bother my car. frown I end up having these yellow "poops" all over the hood and the roof. angry At least I think thats what they are. Can I spray my car with bug spray to keep them off? Anyone have any suggestions? I wash my car Saturday and by Sunday morning, they're all over! angry

UH? wtf Thanks, but your solutions are really either quite dangerous or plain unrealistic. confused

Well, there is no nest. See, the tree in front of my house has lots of pollinated flowers. There isn't really a nest I can see. Plus, the tree is like 35 ft tall and 50 feet wide and I can't cut it down without city permit and stuff. My parents wouldn't be too happy either. Is there a chemical antipheromone I can spray that won't smell, but keeps them off.

Theres no where else to park my car. I could park it a block away and walk home. The tree is in the front yard of my house. The answer i'm looking for is spray solution.

i'd just like to say that if there is no nest in the tree then you don't need some sort of spray because that yellow "poop" on your car isn't bee poo, but just the polin from the flowers falling down..

Are you sure? My car isn't parked under the tree. I was told by my cousin that is what they are. I need pictures to show you. I'll post tomorrow.

I wish I had bee stuff on my car.

My neighbor's tree overhangs my driveway by a good bit. That tree happens to be home to over a dozen birds. A dozen very well fed birds. Birds with amazing aim and what I can only guess is some sort of vendetta against me.

After a day of sitting in the driveway, my black celi is covered with dozens big white splats of bird shit. I'm thinking of getting the car painted white, or just not washing it for a few days and let the birds paint it white for me.

Garage is full of crap, including my dads 1950 Ford Model T (not crap grin), which needs a new engine and tranny. Plus there are no garage door openers. I have to open the doors manually. Unless there is something that repels pollen so it doesn't stick, i'm just gonna have to deal with it. cry

I am not sure what you can do since they are attracted to the flowers, but I know Martha Stewart has/had rofl
a bee spray (sold at KMart). It doesn't smell bad, it smells like mint, one of its good selling points.

We use it to spray on forming nests/hives. Not sure how it would work in your situation though.

Susan, we've established the fact that they are not bees, but pollen from the tree. Thanks for the help, though. thumbsup

I found this company called Fuji Spinning, apparently the same company that discovered Spandex laughsilly. They make some material that is antistatic, meaning less dust and pollen stick to stuff. Theres also a resin which creates a smooth surface so it brushes right off. What do you guys think? confused

^^

that stuff might make it easier to clean but it won't stop your car from lookin dirty... good idea though thumbsup

i reckon a car cover, surely it only takes half a min to put it on & even less to pull it off.

^^^Tell me about it. I remember going to school and the sky was red, ash was colleting in the gutters, and I was out of school for a week. The only fire that came closer was the one that started in Elphin Forest, back when I was in Elementary school.

Luke, you gonna make me do all that work thumbsdown. Forget it, for every problem, there was always a pill or a spray or a lotion that will cure it. I'm lazy and I need a better solution.

I just know somebody is gonna jump on this post and say bee repellant. RTFT (read the f*cking thread!)

Thanks for all your help. If you have other solutions, more reasonable than say destroying a tree or possibly harming myself or others, please post them. Thanks!
