Seats, Front - How To Remove or Install
How To Remove or Install Front Seats
By Isaac DeCoursey @ EverythingCelica.com

This project was quite easy, only four bolts and they are in obvious locations.

Removal:

* Slide the seat all the way forward...

* Using a screwdriver, remove the "seat track covers"
(hint: tape the screwdriver tip before use - so as to not damage the plastic covers)

* Remove the two rear bolts...

* Now slide the seat all the way back...

* Carefully tilt the seat backwards and disconnect the connectors...

Installation:
* Mount the front seat to the vehicle.

* Connect the connectors under the seat.

* Slide the seat to the front-most position.

* Tighten the bolts on the rear side temporarily, starting from the bolt on the inner side tighten them completely (torque 37 N-m, 375 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)

* Slide the seat to the rear-most position to install the bolts on the front side (torque 37 N-m, 375 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)

* Install the seat track overs.

And you're done thumbsup

Skim through this post...

They were Celica GTS seats reupholstered in Sparco material. The funny thing about that install was that while side air-bags were still functional, there was no place to plug them in, on the GT.

theres no real answer in that post, so was the upholstery done by him or a shop?

i ask because if it was done by him, i just wanted to see if a write-up existed (if there is one)

otherwise, i guess ill have to stick with these kinda worn out stock leather seats

It's the 4th line in the post I linked to, "Carkraft in Southern California."

Hey All,

I am trying to help my sister fix up her well loved 2003 GTS (USDM) and was hoping for some sage wisdom. Her driver seat cushion is splitting and tearing at the seam (leather). I found a passenger seat (also leather) that was in good shape on eBay and wanted to know if i could use that seat as a donor and just swap the cushions without having to weld or modify the seat cushion frame (the part that is attached to the seat cover and actual cushion. Neither seat (current and donor) has the airbag feature so no troubles there.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!
