I need help on the settlement on my totalled celi.
What his insurance(Farmers) said "ANYTHING OVER 10,000 IS GOING TO NEED MY SUPERVISORS APPROVAL". What can I do besides showing all the receipts that I have invested on my car? Has anybody been in my shoes? If so, what was the outcome? I still owe $11,500.00. High bluebook is around $11,000.00. My car has 114,000 miles on it.

Show them all the receipts and if they give you crap, then it's time to get yourself a lawyer.

^^^ yup.

You should lookup bluebook, and make sure you're getting somewhere in that ballpark for the car. Then gather all your recipts. If it was a perminent part of the car (stereo, rims, exhaust, bodykit, Intake, ect...) it's covered. If it's not (CD's and such), it's won't be.

If they won't play ball, get a lawyer.

Try and get them to at least pay what you owe. That way you can walk.

See if you can buy it back too. Ebay all the parts, you will make a mint! grin

I'm lookin to replace it with a g35 coupe leather 6mt.
Correction on the bluebook, I went to bluebook.com and the retail value of my car is $13,145.00. I printed it and will be faxing them a copy!!!! That doesn't include my mods.

BRO!!!! GET A DAMN LAWYER@!!!!!!...I'm damn near one (finishing school), and if you were in GA I'd help you. They will work off of a contingency, which means that if they don't get everything paid for then you don't have to pay...they just take like 33% of the settlement. WE do that here...someone like you would walk in and show us what happened...you get us the doctors bills and a police report, we get all of your expenses paid, from medicals, to prescriptions, to lost wages, to a rental car, etc...and then based on your medicals we talk to them about compensation for pain and suffering, and take our 33% out of that. its pretty standard practice, actually...I'll put it to you this way...insurance people are trained to weasel out of paying. If me and you are playing a game and I know all the rules and you know nothing, then who's gonna win????? that's how the insurance companies work...A LAWYER IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!...and they will work without a deposit or anything...and if they do nothing then you are not out of pocket for their time...call around and get one that works on CONTINGENCY...good luck bro...

I just started going to a chiropractor. He gave me another 30 days to take off work note. He also reffered me to an attorney. I spoke with the attorney and told me that they can take care of the car settlement for free. The only thing they will be getting any money on is the medical settlement. They also told me that the adjustors are trained to push the lowest settlement and the attorney said that they can maximize them. BTW the chiropractor is the father of a friend.

Insurance companies don't like to pay. Plain and simple. It often takes a lawyer to get all of the money you are entitled to.
