Sup guys...i'll prolly be flamed for asking this but what else is new. Anyways my friends automatic stratus is having some transmission problems. Sometimes driving it pops out of gear then if he slows down it'll pop into gear at about 35 mph and it wont up shift then and just drive with it taching it up on the rpms. His tachometer dont work either but you can hear it. Its been like this for a while and some how he still manages to get around. Also sometimes when parked it wont get into gear when you put it into drive. You gotta turn the car off then start it again it'll go then. Anyone know what the problem might be? Something major or something as little as transmission fluid or something i dunno. If anyone can help me it'd be great thanks

Could have many possible sources. He should take it to a tranny shop & have them try to diagnose it. Sometime all it takes is a short test drive & the guy will know exactly what it is.

after the problem is diagnosed and deemed expensive, he should probably consider trading that bad boy in before he loses out from sliding the problem on a dealership which will have substantially more resources to repair the problem. i've never seen a dealership test drive a trade-in before...

What car was that?

Yah, the car I traded in on my Celi went to auction. Apparently the knocking engine prevented them from selling it. grin

Yah, suprise ... Celi's have lowsy trade in value. My Corolla did awesome, but the Celi aint worth a damn because its a sports car & people assume the crap has been driven out of it.
