do they improve handling, ride quality or just tend to drop the car?

With any drop handling will be increased with the harder springs and lower center of gravity. With that lowered stance ride quality will also be a bit harsher. The springs are shorted and harder than before and dont have enough flex in them to absorb as much of the road imperfections as before. Does that all make sense? I dont know if i worded that good.

The lower you go the harsher it is going to be. I dont know how much tein lowers you car but there wont be much of a difference. Coilovers also will have a harsher ride over stock. They are spings and struts incoprerated together so you get it all in one package.
