Im trying to get all the info on things so i can try to pull one for my bday, if i got a kaminari body kit would it work since i have a 02 Celica GT with stock wheels? I know it would look funny, but would it fit or drag or not work at all?

I personally believe that you should buy the rims before you buy a body kit. I think it would look weird..the kaminari with 15's confused I don't believe it would be scraping, unless you have it lowered..I know the kam. kit is lower than the "action package" which dealers sell all the time on GT's with the 15" alloys

17s or 18s would look awesome. The kit will still look alright if you get that first. I personally think that 18s would look really good. Ricepowered has 18s on his Kaminari, it looks tight. Just do what you want first. If you get the kit, make sure you get some rims though. thumbsup

I was thinkin about gettin some 17's or 18's that are 5 or 6 small spoke that are chrome. Like the racing look, but shiney like chrome, I dont race, i just liek to fix it up.

what color is your car? Personally I'm not down with the chrome. Just my preference. Do what you want though.

Hey if I got a Kaminari Body kit, would the wheels Isaac is selling look good? i'd be scared to lower it because i live in the country and its all hilly here in TN, but if they would look fine, I'd be interesting in buying them.

Thats what I did. thumbsup thumbsup

I don't smoke so I put the ashtray to good use.

I also have stock springs with my kit. I kind of wish I went with rims first.

hm... try to get wheels first...I think that's what I am going to do instead of finishing the rest of the exterior. Get my wheels on...then change bumper, spoiler and such.

Justice, your ride is sweet!!!!!

As far as the wheel thing goes, I would go for wheels first. I think it would be up to cash flow and how bad you want the kit.

So do yall think that Isaac's 17's would look too small? Maybe if i got tires that werent extremly low profile?

I just dont want like a huge gap between my fender and the top of my tire, but im too scared to lower it with all the hills and horrible roads. TN has no education programs and spends all the money on roads, but non of those roads are near my house. I guess i live too close to Kentucky for that...

So what if got the 17's and bought something to lower my car with (i dunno how to lower it) and droped it like an 1 or 2 in. that would take care of the gap, but how would it effect my car when i get a kaminari kit? And whats the diff between coil overs and lowering springs? Or is there a diff, i am completly clusless on that.

my kaminari with 18" and a 1.5" drop

If you do leave the stock wheels on, your not going to scrap, the kaminari does not sit that low ... only about 1" lower than the stock body

So what if i went with 17's and a 1.5" drop? Think the wheels would fit the car better or should I get a 2" drop? I gotta keep in mind Money, Clean-looking-ness, and dragging

Anytime you get aftermarket wheels the car always looks better with a slight drop ... as for how much ... it depends on what kind of look you want and if your really worried about scraping ... since it appears you are then don't go more than 1.5" ... with 17"s just stay with a 40-45 series tire and it sould look good thumbsup

Ok Isaac's are 45, so they would work. Where would I find a 1-1.5" kit? I dont guess I really need some racing suspension, but if they are faily cheap too, then thats cool. I found one in the store here the "Gold-Line Springs - 1.75'' Drop" thats only $135, but the "Eibach Pro-Kit Springs - 1.2'' Drop" is $235. Cheaper than either would be great, I see stuff on ebay thats like $60 but i figure they arent worth it. But cheap money is a plus with my parents.

The gold lines are the some of the cheapest you will find, stay away from ebay for stuff like that, never know what you will really end up with. Keep in mind that a drop over 1.5" will change your suspension geometry and may need a camber kit and new shocks.

But will 1.75" be too much? Are they good quality? I like the price tho.

TRD springs are cheap, about 1" drop, you can usually find then for about $150

H&R spings are about 1.5" drop ... don't know price

Eibach sports are good thumbsup

I personally have hotchkis which are around $200.00 and a 1.375" front and 1.875" back drop

good luck thumbsup

it's totally up to you ... ask yourself this

1) Do you want to change your driving style ?
(slow for intersection, bumps, speed bumps, potholes, etc ...)

2) Are you really worried about scraping ?
( could damage or destory a body kit )

3) How good/bad are the roads you drive on ?
(potholes, dips, raises, broken, ruts, etc ...)

It's totally up to you grin

I already go slow over bumps and take angles into driveways and stuff. but sometimes i dont see potholes at night.

I am really scared to bust up a body kit

and my roads are prally decnt in city and rough in county.

Where could i find some 1.5" for about 135-150?

I need a 1 inch drop soon with some wheels...that is all coming up! TRD springs for me if it is a 1 inch drop. I can't afford to go any lower.

or what you could do, is measure the gap between the fender and tire. That will tell you how much of a drop you want. thumbsup
