i was just wondering if any of you photoshop gurus could tell me how to make a specific color transparent with adobe. i know you can, because i have done it before. i just forget how, thanks.
im not sure if this is what ur asking. but what you do is set the opacity to like 20% or 25% to make this transparent color thing with the color you want and the tolerance to 255
unless your asking how to set the transparent color for an image, like gif or png, on the web.. after your finished with the image lets say you have a circle with a red outline and the fill is blue and you want the blue to be transparent.. you go to file - save for web and then on the right look for a drop down for the format and select gif or png (these two support a transparent color) then look around the color palette and it should have the thing to set the transparent color and then click on blue, save the new gif/png image, and your set, i hope you understand this
i think i need to use the gif98a, but for some reason my photoshop doesnt have it, so i cant export to it. but what i want to do it take a flyer that i have and make the background of it transparent so i can print them out. see the background is a blue color but instead of using all the ink im going to print them out onto blue paper. so what i want to do is make all the blue on the paper transparent.
oh, okay, you have to hide the background layer, and if that doesnt work try converting the background layer into a regular layer and then hide it.. if you do not have the image in layers then you have to use the background eraser tool in PS and set the background color to the color you want to erase
