Hey celica peeps. I just got my draw-tite trailer hitch installed today and need to do the wiring for trailer lights. I want to use a "fully isolated" tail light converter that is made for cars with "sensitive electronics". I figure, its just a good precaution due to the fact that shorts circuits happen on trailers all the time! The Hoppy 46255 is such a unit, and it requires 12+ and ground, as well as the usuall splices to the turn signals and brakes.
Whats the best place to get 12+ in the trunk? Im guessing 10 amps would be enough. Do I have to run from the battery? Or is there an easy run somewhere else?

Thanks!

I had mine installed, but they are run off the wiring harness in the driver side compartment in the rear hatch. They hook to the tail lights & so far they work good. What are you pulling with your celi?

Ok, so you have your lights for your trailer in parallel with your cars lights. Someone recomended me the Fully isolated harness which requres power.
Tractor pull with a celi? It needs a lower reverse gear and a front hitch! =)

Im moving and am using a small 4x6 utility trailer. Our cars are good for 2000lbs towing! Its damn good nuff for it. Beats loading the hatch back with 20 bags of soil and multch.

Well, it looks like i'll have to run one power wire from the front to the back. I should have said I was installing a subwolfer amp or something.

Thanks!
