Hey guys, as some of yall know i bought a TSRM exhaust and installed it yesterday grin. The only thing is that when its idle it sounds like a jackhammer inside the car because it keeps hitting my TRD bumper. Any suggestions as to what i could perhaps put in between the canister and the bumper to prevent that annoying sound? Thanks...any suggestions are appreciated. rice

You can bend the hanger so that it doesn't rub against your rear bumper. That's the best thing you can do.

Should i trim the body kit around it? or would that look tacky? I was thinking of either doing that or putting some sort of material in between.. frown

Don't trim the bumper, just bend the hanger so it doesn't rub anymore. Your bumper will melt if you don't fix it ASAP.

Yes, it's simple. Did you put the exhaust on, or did someone else? Because if you paid to have someone else put it on, then take it back to them and demand that they fix it, because it's not mounted right.

The hangers are attached to the car, and made of metal that is somewhat flexible, yet strong. Attached to the hangers on the car are rubber pieces with two holes in them. One hole for the hanger on the car, and one hole for the hanger on the exhaust. There are three hangers I believe. You should be able to bend the hangers with moderate force, and once you get under the car, you should be able to see what I am talking about.

Check the install section for exhaust installs, and you should be able to see pics of the hangers, if they are already not labeled for you. Perhaps someone would be nice enough to post a pic or two here for you. I would, but I'm at home on dial up and it would take me a few hours.

Anyways, adjust the hanger that is closest to the rear of your car, and since your exhaust is hitting your bumper, you want to bend the hanger DOWN towards the ground ever so slightly. Don't go too overboard.

Also, your exhaust should not be vibrating like it is, so check to see that your exhaust is attached to ALL HANGERS, and once again, there should be three.

If you don't feel like doing this yourself, then take it back to whoever did the initial install, and they should fix it without any complaints, since they may have not done it right the first time.

Good luck. wave

Make sure you use a good jack to jack the rear of the car up. You only need one, but make sure you don't just use the stock jack that comes with the car, because that jack is only meant to change flats, not to hold the car up with someone underneath. Seriously, if it fails, there is no way you are walking away alive.
