if you plan on crashing your car alot, you shouldn't modify your car... Many people in the U.S. prefer the quality and durability of Urethane or thick heavy Fiberglass parts. However, people in Japan believe that Urethane is too heavy to use for aero parts and prefer light weight (thin) Fiberglass. https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_93081_0_collapsed_5__1.html

i beleive easiER (than Urethane) is the correct way to put this. if you stay away from other cars, high curbs, and steep driveways you should have absoultely no problem at all--especially if you buy a top-quality, name brand body kit (bomex is included in this category). but, somtimes you just don't see things...and Urethane can obviously take the brunt of a minor collision better than Fiberglass.

yeah, i have the kit too. i'm currently working on painting it as we speak, there were a few (alot less than other kits) minor bubbles under the gell coat, but they're super easy to fix, just grind them out and use fiber fill on them. as for an accident, Fiberglass is a lot easier to fix than Urethane, if you stretch Urethane it's useless.

my has stress cracks aleady lol and the paint chips off easily. also even on stock suspension wil scrape on tons of crap you wouldnt have before so be mindful of that. I learned the hard way. lol my car looks like a truck and still scrapes. thats the one big thing I dont like about the kit.

if you want to go Urethane, the only real choices you have are kaminari, wings west, and blitz.
i don't think i'm stretching the truth when i say all of those kits already have a lot of play (there are lots of them around).
if you want something that is more custom, the only way to go is Fiberglass, unfortunately.

some people who have already purchased and installed their body kits recommend that you leave the kit unpainted for about a month. yes, this is 'rice' but the reason they recommend that is because you WILL chip your kit and scratch your kit, and scrape your kit...it's pretty much a definate because you have to learn to drive a COMPLETELY different way than what you learned...and this takes time to become mindful of your cars new limitations. after a month passes...THEN paint it. in the end it's worth it. (and being a riceboy for a month isn't that bad...better than driving around with a scratched up kit for howeverlong)

I was going to go with bomex only because it looks like the most aerodynamic, and don't say "you got a windtunnel test I assume" 'cause I didn't lol. But since I dropped 2", I'll just stick with TRD flyboy wing-up style so I don't repaint all the driveways in my town.

if your kit was installed in a hurry, which most shops will try to do, there is a huge chance that they'll miss some cracks and bubbles in the gell coat. if you're doing it, which i recomend, you can find them, fix them, and not have to worry much about stress cracks. if done right, which takes a really long time, it should hold up well until you hit something. i've got 5 weeks in my car so far, but then again, i'm doing a complete color change.
