First C2POWER GTS turbo kit and custom "semi dog box"transmission

Hello guys! Im within 2 weeks of completing my Turbo project and had some pics sent to me i can share! Expected hp will be 350whp easy, but trying to secure the record by pulling a 400whp run. As you may or may not know the celica doesnt like torque, so instead of making a beast that i knew was going to constantly break trannys, my sponsor decided to custom make one out of a stronger material. What ended up happening is 1-4 gears are cut straight instead of the normal helica type. 5-6 are cut normal for cruising. A test drive yesterday proved to be really nice! You can switch between 1-4 with or without the clutch and through those gears it emits the tranny sound of that like the rally cars. Not too loud but enough to make you smile and enough to make someone into cars do a triple take. Well I can provide more info upon request, and here are some links to pics...enjoy:)

How much would it cost for the full Turbo kit and tranny swap for a GT, would you be offering a package deal at a lower price, like an est. of like 8g's for the full kit?

I have a GT auto, and i like what your shop is doing, so I'm looking to invest in your kit and tranny and just have my shop down here install it since you're over seas, how hard would it be to do to swap all the auto internals out and put in a new tranny and all that kit work and stuff, and will the retail version of the Turbo kit need the forged pistons and heads?

Hi! So far we had no such request! First, you got to convert your celica to manual tranny, then you can order the full upgraded gear set and the Turbo kit.

If you want to keep the automatic tranny, that is ok whit the power levels of the stage1 and probably even the stage2 kit we got.

Stage1 is suited, and designed for stock internals and will give about 50% gain to over 200hp, and 200lbs of torque.
Stage2 kit got upgraded Wiseco pistons and crower rods, bigger intercooler, but basicly the same hardware, so you can upgrade from stage1 to stage2 later. It will do over 250hp and the stock manual tranny may or may not be able to hold the torque. So far we only had tranny problem on Gas's car, but its got stage3, even more boost and slightly bigger Turbo.

hmm sounds promising! would most or all of these kits work with automatic, or would they be rather pointless to have installed. I've heard that automatic transmissions are better with Turbos because of less lag and the fastest cars in the world are automatics...

It will work fine whit automatics!
At the end of the day, it is allways down to personal taste, i like to controll all the aspects of my car, but some like the automatic.
Since our stage 1 kit, is built for, good streetability, quick response, tourque down low, and nice power for street driving, i think it will suite the automatic and your needs well.

I think it makes a nice balance on the manual tranny for low costs, and can give the extra kick for the auto GT to match the fast look of the car!

Hey Til! Glad you stepped in, Just for the record im only sponsored by C2Power, I dont work there, but I can answer many questions, C2Til can answer all your questions! grin As far as the GT kits go I have to say Im very impressed with the shop owners car who also has a GT. I would have been happy just to have the gains he had with a Stg 2 kit because it was enough for a fun hand full, wheel spin through 2nd...lol see for your self. http://www.c2design.hu/celica/1-2.mpg

JESUS those are awesome clips!!goodjob

What kind of Turbo did you use? And is this Turbo kit compatible with the GTS? Finally, what would be the estimated gains on stage 1, stage 2, and stage 3 for the GTS if it is compatible. Thank you very much!

The tranny is awesome for N/A celicas too w/ powershifting in mind. Hitting 12s in an all motor GTS should be a piece of cake along with the PowerFC.

rofl Oh man it looks like this kit rocks.
I just watched the first video and all I can say is that is one scary celica!!! Watch out Dodge Viper, or Ferrari!!! I think you guys will have to start selling suspension kits to go along with the Turbo just to keep the celica on the ground...uh throw in some trailing arm bars and a parachute too!!! R compound tires are also a must for the type of power being put out here. AWESOME!!!

How I wish I could get a Turbo, but I don't think I'd pass smog here in cali...so I'll probably have to go direct port nitrous.

I get my kicks on EC.

Thanks man! My car is the GTS prototype, and Im going with a T3/T4 Turbo, http://www.c2design.hu/celica/Soceur/DSC02097.JPG
Expected hp is 350whp! Not sure c2power has the stg kits identified for the GTS like they do for the GT, but i would say I have a stg2+ as I have a few things that wouldnt be normal on the regular stg 2 kit:) My final whp goal is 400whp, but thats just for the crown, will be de-tuned after that goal is accomplished!

The new tranny can be shifted clutchless through 1-4 gears! Only 5-6 will need for you to clutch;)

LOL!! To tell the truth if the demand is moderate to high c2power can custom make just about anything we could want, for example fuel rails, throttle bodies..etc. Those guys are smart! So if you have a wish part to be made and have guys that want to be down then drop him a note on his website and let them know! http://www.c2power.com/

Cool tranny, prove your estimated hp numbers please with a full dyno sheet. Variable timing with lift = hell for Turbo lag. I wouldn't be surprised if you put down 350hp... for a total time of 300 rpms.

Dyno proof of the stage2 kit on the celica GT, it was measured while Gas's car had the old stage2 kit on 13PSI.

Remember those numbers are measured at the wheel!
You can calculate whit 20% drivetrain loss and you got about 300hp and 300lbs of torque!

Stage1 and stage2 kits are on stock!

im confused when you say 300rpm, do you mean 3000? Also why do you think vvtli will cause serious lag? So far no reports of lag on the GTS has been reported as a problem. A dyno will be completed when i get the car back ASAP! thumbsup

The general nature of lift causes exhaust gases to come out very fast, but way high up in the RPM cycle. I didn't know what Turbo you were using, and didn't assume the T3/T4 combo, which would be good.

You know what would be awesome with lift? Twin Turbo. Lift would generate enough exhaust gases- quickly enough; to power a HUGE Turbo; have a smaller Turbo before that...

Good luck, and for all the buyers, make sure you post the stock european stats on the GTS (it's different right?)

The kit kit has KKK K04 Turbo, we choose this one, becouse it fits the 1.8L engine very well. Very, very minimal lag, very streetable, quick responding Turbo!

The ultimate GTS project has a T3/T4 setup, i predict that it will be a lot more drastic kick but still good midrange, and since the GTS has a wider powerband, there will be a very usefull rev range to play whit under boost.

That is great man!!! Thx for the info!!!

Concidering this there is only tranny for 6 speed cars, cos there are 3 parts which makes a housing. The closest to the enegine is the same on both 6 or 5speed trannies, but the other 2 are different. So our tranny only would fit in the 6speed (GTS or euro GT) housing. frown
The base price is around 3500 so its not cheap at all. But if you look what you get, then its really reasonable. You get a full inside replacement with helical LSD and straight cut gears and final gears as well. We cannot split the project, cos all made to match the other.
We dont expect such a big interest on this, but who needs them has a choice to get them.
BTW here is a video of the GTS with the tranny:
