My 2000 GTS just turned 100,000 miles and it kinda acts funny sometimes like its going to die when I put in neutral, Since I have a Drive train warranty I was thinking of just blowing it and get it replaced. If anybody has any comments about this or has a easy Idea on how to blow it so toyota will fix it let me know. I was thinking of just forgeting to shift gears on accident.

ok, to answer ur question straight. this is a way of cheating and most of you guys will hate me to say this, but im gonna say it. IMO, easiest way to ruin the engine is by draining all the oil out of it and then turn on the car. when the engine starts knocking(fuckin up), turn off the car, add some oil to it. reset the ecu, turn on the car, let it idle for a while, and then drive a little. call toyota about engine knock and hope theyll fix it.

now some of you might say, "oh how dare u, thinkin through how to do all this and that, you a thief." the reason i thought about this is because toyota is a bitch. if they are asking for 19,000$ for a 2000 gts with 56,000 miles on it, is that a ripoff? so i thought that if i buy the car overpriced, im gonna make them change my engine or tranny, or else both.

btw, this is my last resort if i cant find an affordable celica. i wouldnt recommend anyone doing this though, but that answers ur question

I just had my MAFS replaced with a new one. I didnt clean the throttle body though. Is there anyway that toyota can tell that i drained the oil and put it back like stefanoc said above, I diserve a new engine anyways I got a shitty deal when I bought it, I just found out like a week ago that my car is worth nothing because of a prior accident that toyota didnt tell me about.

is there a way to tell if an engine was run without oil? OF COURSE! Stefanoc, they will not fix that I can practically assure you of that. Why don't you go to them with the current problem and say it's all fucked up. They will be more inclined to fix it, and if they don't no "cheating method" is gunna make em fix it. THey are stealers for a reason, you can't cheat a cheater. If there is even a hint of error on your part you can basically kiss the warrenty goodbye.

If I over rev it it would show up on the computer, but what if I disconnected the ecu and reset the ecu would it still be shown in the computer or would it be deleted or not saying it over reved.

How much is your car worth because of the accident and how much did you pay? If you seriously overpayed bring it back and demand some money back or a new car, because they should let you know if the car's been in an accident and sell it accordingly.

If they still bother you, threaten legal action for a misreprented car. That usually shuts 'em up.

Here's a thread about my experiences with Toyota and servicing an "oiless" engine. <CLICK>

ok i have a question about my engine. I own a 2000 gts and when i bought it it sounded like it was knocking a little but i wasnt sure, so anyway, now it has a chatterbox like sound if you can imagine what that is. it ticks faster the higher it revs. its not loud at all, nor is the engine light on, but i do notice it when i ride past buildings. can anyone tell me what that is?

It will. ALL CELs are recoreded into the ECUs permanent memory. They will show up no matter what.
