Does anyone else's A/C seem to take a long time to cool the air in your car? It's starting to get pretty hot here in OK and it seems like my A/C takes an extremely long time to cool the air. I'm guessing it takes anywhere from 7-10 minutes for cold air to start blowing and that's after I've been driving for a while. I live in OK and the summer months here are not friendly on cars. The air is hot and humid (as my CAI will tell you smile) so it's only natural that the A/C will take longer. However, I owned a Saturn SC-2 before my Celica ad everything about that car was crap except the fact that my car cooled off in about 90 seconds.

Is this a problem for other people and should I get it checked out? I know a lot about cars but I know jack about the A/C; besides I know they can be worked on by a professional only.

Running AC works your engine harder, so if you have a CAI working that cold air, I would assume it would take longer than with your standard air box. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. That's what it sounds like to me.

Mine only takes a few seconds, but its also a month old. idunno

I thought you grabed the air for your AC from the top next to the winshield... I am so lost.
