saying you are going on vacation while trying to interview with a job, looks very bad on your part.

Instead you should say, I have prior commitments and will not able to work until such and such date.

I was in the same boat as you. I was working up at a gym coaching the pre-team boys during school. $8 an hour. But its like 5-8:30. I would be working with my dad from like 8-5 n making $10 an hour. But once school starts again i won't be able to work with my dad bc he works down in jersey most of the time. So it'd be a waste to drive like an hour just to work for like 3 hrs. But i lucked out and the gymn said that they kinda overbooked on coaches. So they said that they won't need me until fall. But i know how you feel.

Just say:

This job that you offered means a lot to me, so I told my parents that I would be unable to go on vacation with them.

Say something to that extent, but word it better, and it will look like you are comitted to working where you want to work. As for you not being able to work a certain night at a certain time, just say that you have a prior commitment that you cannot miss. If she asks what it is, make something up, but make it up in advance and practice it so that it sounds like the truth.

Either that, or just tell her that you already promised your dad that you would help him out with something this one time only. This way, it looks like you are comitted, and that you won't be working with your dad again, as to show that it will not interfere with your Walgreen's schedule.

Good luck.

Yeah you should at least go to the interview and just tell her you cant start until you get back, and who knows, they may be ok with that. You just need to see what she says, and if that wont work, try to work something out with them. Anything as long as you get the job like you want.

lesson #1 you learned: never let an opportunity slip away off ur hands like that again. especially nowadays, its hard to find jobs. this is a good excuse though. have ur interview asap. during ur interview, tell her that you were gonna go to vacation but plans changed cz now you got a car and paid for ur car instead of vacation. tell her that you selected a car over a vacation. and good luck.
walgreens is better than dunkin donuts and baskin robbins. remember, ur gonna work when summer is about to end, so when you work at baskin robbins, ur gonna get paid minimum, tips are gonna do wonder but ur not gonna get a lot cz of the season. tips are awesome, no tax to be cut off of them, but i heard walgreens pays good. so good luck

think Butterfly Effect. He could work at "just walgreens" but something big might come of it. Might meet someone while there for another job or see something he might normally not have seen.

ooorrr he could not work at "just walgreens" and something awesome could happen.

That 1 move changes everything for ever!
