I've been pondering this crazy idea of an engine swap for a while now let me know how possible and how insane. I have been t5hinking of taking out my 1zz and trading it for a 2jz twin turbo supra engine. The only problem I have is that most places won't return my emails and other think I to nuts... spineyes

the 2JZ-GE(I-6 n/a) or 2JZ-GTE(I-6 turbo) motor is too big for our engine bay. the 3S-GTE(I-4 turbo) motor swap has been done though.

Things to think about before doing anything terminal would be:

1. In California, you can only use an engine made in the same year your car was made in or younger.

2. The 3S-GTE motor was meant for AWD (GT-4 Celica) or the RWD mr2. have fun making the 3S-GTE mate with your transmission or even converting to AWD.

Couldn't you make the engine bay bigger?

I mean, with enough money, you could fit a mclaren engine in there.

it's not just a matter of fitting a giant engine in there... you'll need chassis work to couple the large powerful engine.

with enough money you could do whatever you wanted ... I think we're trying to be practical here ... of coarse engine swaps aren't suppose to be practical anyways rice grin
