That price sounds ok to Me considering it will last You 100.000 miles or more if you take care of it.

Don't bother cause I HAD one & it made no difference except for sound a little louder.

A friend gave me his when he upgraded to a cold air system. I cleaned it, oiled it & installed it. The next day my AIC went south and my check engine light came on. That's a $350 part ruined by K&N oil. If you read on the side of the K&N oil can, it says you may damage sensors and stuff.

Air Intake Control ... not 100% sure exactly what it does or how it works, but it effects my idle. In cold weather the motor tries to idle at 700 instead of 1200.

Sounds to Me like You oiled it installed it and ran it right away, Well no wonder it fucked up man. Your supposed to clean it let it dry thouroughly then oil it and let it sit for 12 hours or so to let the oil permiate and gel on the filter medium.

I don't like K&N filters, my car runs better without it frown

I heard of people just letting it dry for a hour and go and had no problems

so what kind of problems do you have if you just put it on and go?

I read the instructions. Oiled it very lightly, dabbed off any excess (on the rubber) and let it sit over night.
