What happens when you don't use Turbo timers? I know it's bad for the Turbo's but on what part? the spool?

and how about the stock cars that come with factory Turbo's . . .


why don't they have Turbo timers?

A Turbo timer, never heard of one of those????

I have heard of computer controlled waste gates and dump valves.

i am told it is too keep the trubo running after you turn off the car so the hot oil dosent sit there! and cause damage, what kind i dont know.

guy i work with at the hobby shop has one on his WRX... the car is running at an idle for 3 minutes then the car shuts off... I don't really know much about it though

A turbo timer allows an engine to idle for a preset time after the ignition key has been turned to the off position and removed. --- By allowing a Turbocharged engine to idle, oil continues to pass through the Turbo until it has cooled down to the point where oil "coking" will not occur..."

^^ yup. You dont need a Turbo timer; but you'd then be advised to sit in your car for 5 minutes after getting anywhere.

Turbo kits sure as hell don't include a Turbo timer. haha, they're hundreds of dollars, and part of your alarm system.

my last car was Turboed 95eclipse gst(2nd gen), and broke down all the time, so i couldn't afford a Turbo timer. i usually waited 2 minutes after getting somewhere to turn my car off and it was fine.

but basically the point of the Turbo timer is to maintain the oil pressure going to the Turbo while the Turbo cools down. i don't know why some guys get intimadated when they get that response from a girl
