TPR seems to be the best all around but is it reliable enough in rain? i hear the other 2 are not great but im really paranoid. whats this i hear about SRI not being suseptable to this? where can i get a good SRI or should i not worry? i may move to florida and sometimes it rains down there like a mofo. also...you think i could beat a 5 speed wrx with kazuma, intake, aem pully, dc sport header? i got 6 speed gts. thanks for help all...E-CELICA ROX

Don't know the weather were you live I taught it rained a lot in NY.. I'll be getting SRI because of the rain over here.. rains almost the entire year.. and I don't think you'll beat the wrx that way.. maybe when you do quite a lot of weight reduction you will but still don't think so grin

here's the deal, I'm a floridian, my friend has a GTS with an AEM CAI, he's never had problems. Most of the roads down here drain very well due to the canals here in Florida, so you really don't have to worry about bogging at all, except in hurricanes... and i hope you won't be driving in a hurricane. my friend is a horrible driver, he'll go 75 thru a puddle just so he can hydroplane, and i'm suprised he's never hydrolocked, especially w/ no BPV or a Shield, but just to let you know, it takes a lot to bog a CAI in florida.

guys he just wrote that the wrx is not stock. Frankly I don't think you will beat him unless he messes up. Remember you're going up against a Turbo with upgrades. Unbolt your muffler or get a bolt on or a custom weld job. TPR, PowerFC, and landing in lift with the PFC, you should definitely beat him.

A stock wrx is 165 hp @ 5600
turbo is 227 @ 6000
2.5 Turbo is 300 @ 6000

You can beat a stock wrx in neutral

ok lets stop the gts vs WRX comments and stick to the Intake question. theres like a MILLION threads on this already.

FYI, easy C forgot to mention that the TPR Intake does infact act as an SRI as well as CAI. so in good weather run the CAI and if you suspect rain, take the 5 min to remove the bottom half and convert it to an SRI.

BTW that just so happens to be my favorite part of the tpr Intake lol cause when it rains it floods a lot by me. don't want my Intake to become a straw. lol

Yeah, the TPR is ingenious, it's a 2-in-1 Intake, you get the best of both worlds thumbsup

Or you can just be like me and I live in PA it rains all the freaking time, I have my CAi installed and im too lazy to take it off when it rains.

Its fine, i did put some duc tape on the fender to help block water though. just don't go through a puddle thats 14 inches deep.
