I was cleaning my headlights today, getting the condensation out of them and sealing them up. After sealing one of the rubber grommets to the assembly, i noticed this long gray cap like plastic sticking out.
What is it's purpose? I have highlighted the part i am reffering to.

If you remove the cap, you can adjust the headlights horizontally.
