well after hearing so many good things about trd brake pads i decided to "upgrade" my OEM pads. i got the pads at northridge toyota for 40 even each...front and rear ($80) at northridge toyota. well i got them and as i opened the nice glossy TRD box that screamed "high quality Performance part inside" i found that it was wrapped in bubble tape...no trd marking anywhere but in small letters it read...Hawk HPS...again i knew they were made by Hawk pads...i just thought TRD musta forgot to re-badge. the pads are hidden in the calipers anyway so it could have said happy hippos and i wouldn't care. so anyway i got them installed and broke it in as per the directions in the box...and you know what?...it felt like stock..LOL rofl. yeah it grips a "little" better. but it's nothing drastic. i was a little disappointed as there was so much hype...i have read so many reviews saying "for daily drivers who want to comprimise track Performance and daily driving just get high Performance brake pads". so as a daily driver i ruled out steel brake lines, slotted rottors, etc. i got the brake pads...and got a whole lotta nothin'...LOL rofl

they are still good pads. and Hawks are quite reputable. i guess i was expecting too much... idunno

my advice: either stick to OEM...or go full out... thumbsup

The TRD pads aren't that much different than stock.

Should have gotten AXXIS or EBC, but they are 2x the price... spineyes

I have EBC on my Celica, and I'll be the first to tell you those people are DEAD WRONG.

If they are so shitty, why do they come stock on the IS300? Why do tons of race teams count on EBC?

They stop the car hard with no fade. In fact, I've almost worn out a set of rotors with them (they eat them up, but, thats from stopping so hard, so much)

I love them! wave

I've put about 15K on them, about 10 hours of SERIOUS autox so far, and a couple of panic stops from 80-0 and one from 130-70 (damn GA police angry )

I have brembo oem style rotors that I bought and installed at the same time. I'm thinking of moving up to rotoras if I can get the money for them, they look so nice thumbsup

wow! that's quite some wear. i don't race my car and only push it during the occasinoal "lift-play" on the freeway or hit turns a little faster than usual on the canyon hills...still...i was quite disappointed by my trd/ hawk brake pads...
