It pretty much depends on if you want a carbon fiber or aluminum look or a color. Personally, I think painting gives you more options and therefore can have a better turn out (not to mention looks cleaner to me). It's entirely up to what you want though.

they are both completely different things...painting requires time, patience, and accuracy. Having a dash kit is just stick it on. But painting does open up a variety of things such as colors. It just depends what you want. I have a carbon fiber dash kit which I like, but if I didn't have it, I would want my stuff painted red.

painting also looks cheap...scratches too, and you cannot go back. I'd also say it de-value's your car, I would never buy a car that had a painted dash. But I won't buy another toyota unless its a supra either so go ahead! wave

im planning on painting my interior. i like the looks of dash kits but i hate vinyl and i dont want to waste 200-300 bucks then put it on and find it didnt fit exact or something. if they made complete dash replacement parts i would do that but vinyl is too risky.

I'm painting my dash as we speak. It does give you plenty of options..MY color scheme is a mix of a bright and a dark blue...looks sick so far. And I'm sure you could always take it off with a little thinner.

It fit fine around the curves. The hardest area was the curves around the clock. I had to redo it a couple of times and this was the final result.

PAinting gives you an edge makes it look like you put more time, money, and effort into it. Has a better shine to it also..
