So i got my celica today and i went out to take it for a drive tonight didn't have the air on and it was sitting for a while so it cooled down... But i turned it on and it sounded like water swooshing around in the engine/engine bay... does this happen to you? Maybe the coolant iss filling the lines or something...btw i have a 2003 GT.. thanks!

Yah, I used to hear my from inside the car. So I added antifreeze to the little bottle a couple of times & it went away.

i had that same sound once upon a time, i never changed anything and it went away. every once in a while (maybe once a month) it will come back, but nothing like it did for like a week straight when i first got it. weird.

Hey, I have that same sound. So wait, the coolant is low? I purchase an engine coolant for my Celica GT, can I use the same one for my Celica GTS?

yes you can. it is recommended to use the red coolant (prestone, or the brand the dealer has). its better than the green one that its mostly found

I bought my coolant straight from Toyota dealership. It is a black bottle with a rep cap.

The red coolant is long-life coolant. Its probably good for 2 or 3 years, whereas the green stuff must be changed every year.

I dunno what kind of a coolant is on the Celica right now. Can I just add the red coolant onto it without doing anything different or would I have to do some sort of a flush or something?

No, it can't hurt to put the red in.
