hello i am new to the site and do appreciate any comments ,well my question is does anybody know anything about the beeping sound when you are in reverse , and possibly how to dissable it thanku
i think they put the beep stick noo-b's cause whenever someone touches my shift knob they put it into reverse thinkin its 1st gear and then they hear the beepin and are like
You can't hear it outside. Everyone who gets in my car laughs and says 'can you hear it outside'. Its useful though for people who maybe haven't been driving the car very long. It takes quite a shove to push it over into reverse which is next to 1st. I couldn't imagine anyone doing it by accident. Bit over the top to have it disabled. How often are you in fucking reverse?

most people that get in my car think the reverse beep is off the hook, they say something like what the hell this is some kinda of pimp ride... but then they are dissapointed that it doesnt beep on the outside, and im alwayz like no that would be ghetto
I don't mind the beeping inside the car, it is not like I reverse for a very long time. Thank god that it does not beep outside, now that would be like a garbage truck!!
this just happened to me today. as i was ready to back out of a parking spot in a mall parking lot, a nice silver RX-8 with 2 hot looking chicks just pulled up next to me. as i was backing out, the "beeping" just went off like there is no tomorrow. the two chicks looked and started laughing...

How were they able to hear the sound tho? I thought that you cannot hear it from the outside?
.. mine is a '03 GTS manual and it has it, so does my moms. I think it's a good thing because of how somoene could easily put it into the wrong gear and the beeping isn't even that loud. If your emberassed to hear your own car beeping on the inside then there is definitely some self-concious issues at hand.
