A nice and frivaless thread.

So do you chirp your tires often, how so?

I do it often on lights turn from red to green and I seem to do it more so when making left hand turns. I usually make left turns that other people wouldn't or couldn't but I feel I know my abilities in the car well enough and so far haven't had any close encounters. There is also the case of the wheels just squealing a bit while turning hard either left or right due to sharpness and speed.

Anyone else have the tendancey to do this? I may add it's not so much an intentional thing as it is something that just happends due to driving style.

I practically never "chirp" my tires ... if in the rare case I do it's usually from 1st to 2nd.

As for squealing, yeah I do that often around turns thumbsup

i dont chirp my tires.. im wondering why mine dont chirp when i make sharp turns. it just stays nice and smooth, feels like it has a lot of grip of the road. maybe its cause my tires arent worn out at all

You can't chirp second because you drive like a pussy! GTs barely capable of it anyway without loading the revs onto the clutch.

I used to be able to chirp but now that I got 18's with 225 tires I can't do it.

I test drove a GT, pushed the pedal to the floor & let the rev limiter kick in & out & dumped the clutch. It squealed like a pig through first & second & chirped in third.

Uhhhhh..on stock rims using Dunlop Sport A2's I can squeal almost all the way through 1st and chirp into 2nd no probs...I've only chirped 3rd once...when the tires were spanking new...if you're ever in H-Town I'd be glad to demonstrate grin its all about keeping the enigine in the power band and shifting fast...I normally slip my clutch from a stand still entering at about 4.5k to 5k RPM into 1st then dump into 2nd, 3rd, and so on...

And to the orginal post I love sweeping left turns especially the underpass-like turn in to my neighborhood...(no over pass but I imagine in 15 years there might be)...late at night I'll drop to third , rev match, and hit the turn at 40 MPH and gas it to where the tires start spinning but no acceleration grin except the forwad momentum from the original turn in velocity...did it one time and my neighborhood security guy just shook his head with a big grin ... I gave him a idunnoand grin RWD is fun but the more I play with FWD it has its perks too.

I only said it to see how he felt about being flamed for no reason. SPAZ i mean. Hes a prick.

I know you can chirp the tires in second. You can do it in any half decent car. In the wet I can get considerable wheelspin landing lift in third!

I'm amazed you arent banned yet. spending lots of knee time??

If you knew anything you'd know chirping your tires is a BAD thing. I've got more power to the ground then almost any other N/A celica here and I never chirp the tires unless I mess something up (rare) thumbsup I don't even squeal off the line any more grin

once again you've ruined a thread. thumbsdown I reallly need my idiot smiley lol

Yeah no doubt chirping the tires isn't a good thing.. it waste rubber for one and as I said I personally find it a so-so common thing while doing a left turn and I think it chirps so easily is from some what hard acceleration (maybe 3/4 to the floor since I never floor the throttle) and that the tires are on such a sharp angle that some slight amount of traction is lost.

I use to be able to chirp the tires 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd everytime. Now I don't want to abuse my poor baby like that any more so I just take turns like I just stole that mother and get the tires to squeal like a pig.

...or if your tires are like mine with 50k mi. on them and you are planning to get new tires at the end of the month grin then its just a matter of doing it for the hell of it...although I noticed when make right turns I dont get chirps just a harder pull or grip on that side...
