I might be getting a set of 17x8 matrix shadow rims, my car is not dropped , will tires I get for this rub?

No depending on the offset anything above a 40 might

i have 19x8.5 in front and 19x9.5 in the rear with a 3 mill spacer and yes it rubs only in rear but my car has a 2 inch drop so if raise it it will be fine so no a 17x8 will not rub

i have 18x8 with a 35 offset .. hotchcks rear cambers .. and tien ss-p. . .
i rub everynow and then, i want to go lower but it will rub. . i sanded down some of the inner wheel well lip . .. still rub a little.. but very rarly. . . .. thats my insight. . i dont know how you can have 19x9.5. .. !!! in the rear.. . no clue. .

^ You can fit a 9.5" in the rear w/the right offset...you just need a small offset, like a 20-25mm. But it's dumb having wider wheels in the rear when the car is fwd...you can't properly rotate the tires, so they'll wear out faster.
