i am thinking about painting my center console and i was wondering what kind of paint you should use, how much it should cost total, how hard it is, if you can drive without your center console, and what color would go good with a silver car

it cost $3.97/can..i bought 3 can plus 1 can of clear coat high temp hieat..500degrees..total cost me under $20bucks..which is great..under $20 bucks and i did all the eng. plastics and the center console, the air vent the tweeter cover..and i ran out of paint b4 i could paint pillar and the fuse cover on the passenger side..so i'm gonna do that later one..

i'll try to get pics later this week if i can get my hand on a cam..

you can take it to a good body shop and they'll do it for under $150...At least you'll know they'll do it right and professionally. Tell them to put extra clear coat thumbsup thumbsup

^^^i put 3 coats of paint..the first thin layer, meaning ur first spray, you should spray very very thin..waits 3-5mins, then spray several thin layer covering all area..i recommend you should do this in a well ventilated area yet at the same time there are enough lighting around so you can see every detail you did or so to cover up what you didn't..so 3-4thin layer for first coat, wait 10mins, 3-4thin layer for 2nd coats..go get urself 2packs of Tackcloth (homedepot) wipe down after it dry right b4 you put the next coat on..after ur 2nd coats you bring it outside in the sun and check closely, with every detail to see where you need more paint or where you don't need more...keep doing that until you see that u've cover up all the area you want to paint..ok..now you do the same for the Clear Coats, i use 4 or 5, don't remember but i want them to have the same shiny affect so i kept spraying until i see all of the piece mathces up..but TAKE UR TIME you want to do everything exactly the same, with same coats and layers so you don't have to spray too much..the last thing is to wait over night b4 you install them..that's what i did..so 3-4coats of paint and 3-4coats of clear coat(get high temp for eng. plastics you can use that for interior too)

Good Luck..very easy and save tons of bucks..plus it look good..10mins wait between coats, tackcloth between coats..etc.. thumbsup

for me it cost $16.90 (i not positive on the cents portion) including taxes..and that's for 3cans of krylon fusion and 1 can of clear coat...u will need 2 can of clear coat since i already have 1can left i just bought one more..so basically you looking at $20 tax included..
