Hi...
I just self-installed CAI on my auto GT... and even if it was only 36$ i like it and the car is a bit faster! My question is what should i do to improve my acceleration so i can at least enjoy it more(the car i mean)? Anything except than Turbo, s/c or nos would be very helpfull///////
I have an idea about this whole thing but i am looking for some advise on what steps to take first...()
Thanks...!!!

well, most CAI dont give you better accelaration so it kinda was ur first wrong turn, they give you better high end which makes up for it, but get an exhaust with a good low end design, get rid of any excess weight (helps since our cars got ghetto torque and weak low end hp).. but the only thing that really helps with accelaration is a supercharger or Turbo... or try light weight rims confused confused

or try the new DC Headers 4-2-1, give low end hp/torque... or a power boost valve (just read it gives better acceleration) confused

cams would be sweet, but i dont know if they even make any aftermarket or if there is a variety to choose from.. pulleys help with accelaration, but some celica drivers complain about it or say its not worth the gain

hm...i think auto gt still a celica. but my opinion is, if you want fast, get a bike, just like me, smoke everyone...and i think all celica is not tat fast, everyone like celica is because it look so god damn nice and swt( that my opinion)

F/I means forced induction, which is basically Turbochargers and superchargers. the cost for a kit really depends on how far you want to boost it, but the base prices on the parts for an SF kit is around $3,500.

REPOST, geezus.

Cams will not give you better acceleration, they free up hp on the higher end and move the power band around- thats all they do. Aftermarket cams are rarely made specifically for any car- what you do is you take your cams to a shop and they "regrind" them to match new specifications. it's not a minor mod.

Again, people who think a Turbocharger provides low end torque acceleration should be slapped; thats what a supercharger is for.

Finally, people need to stop saying that a larger exhaust will open up low end torque- if anything, an exhaust is the WORST mod you can do to your car without preparation. It KILLS low end torque while opening up a lot of high end hp. The theory behind this is not the mythical backpressure (which is ALWAYS bad), but rather a physics concept called gas scavenging. Think of it like a rope pulling through your engine. the more compact the gas particles in your exhaust (the smaller the exhaust pipe size) the more they're going to latch onto each other, the harder they will pull the "next batch of air" into the combustion chamber. Its hard to find a suitable combination between backpressure and a small enough pipe to maintain a desirable level of gas scavenging- but low end torque always suffers.

Just sell your car and save for a GT 5 speed.

^^dude, a GT 5 speed still isn't gonna be quicker than what he has...he needs something with a bigger motor if he wants faster.
