Swapping GT steering wheel for GTS?

Has anyone done this? Is it possible, and if so can I use the same airbag from the GT wheel in the GTS wheel?

gts wheel is leather wrapped. Yes, you can switch steering wheels, in fact i have a GT steering wheel, my GTS wheel was vandalized when i got the car and i got the GT steering wheel from the junk yard. The Airbags are interchangable.

they aren't even the same wheel.

the GT one has notches for your fingers on the back side, the GTS one has no notches and is leather wrapped.

The way I and my wife hold the steering wheel, the plastic digs in (minor annoyance, but if I can fix it I will). So I figured I would try to swap them out... anyone have a tutorial on how to do this, or a GTS steering wheel they want to sell?? smile

what's so special about the GTS wheel? get an aftermarket Grant wheel that fits around the airbag.

The Grant wheel isn't a replacement, just a snap on cover over the existing. The GTS wheel is rounded and wrapped in leather, the GT wheel has edges that are not comfortable and is made of plastic.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone... but the GT wheel is CHEAP. It's basically rubber. I've seen sooo many of them start to flake and peel, and they feel like crap to hold while driving.

The GTS wheel is almost the same wheel that Lexus uses for the IS300. It'd be a HUGE upgrade, I hope you go through with it and everything turns out thumbsup

Someone post some pics up of the GT wheel if you can. I think mine is leather wrapped (it's a GT but it's special otay?) because my shift knob is. How uncomfortable could the ones you guys are talking about be?
