i thought about it, but priced it out at toyota, they want 4g's for it plus install. but i would probably go super charged vs Turbo.

I think it's not bad in terms of superchargers, but it won't fit in a Celica engine bay. You either have to cut a hole in your hood or get a custom hood like here.

i think that superchargers would be best for daily driver's, they offer good mid range power you can have fun with. i'd rather have a supercharger cause it matches my lifestyle better then a Turbo which gives more power up top.

LOL!! rofl rofl

It is kind of stupid. People that buy the Echo aren't looking for power.

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10
of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

Super chargers are a waste of money on our cars, they don't put out enough power for the price, you're better off with 1) buying a Turbo kit or 2) buying a new car w/ a supercharger already in it

finally..a thread about superchargers where people finally realize that superchargers are pointless for the amount of money they cost.

Lets face it, it really doesn't matter if you get a supercharger or Turbo if you buy a nice car hook it up the last thing you want to do is race it and total it.

The SC is over priced for the power you get, but so is the Celica itself. So it makes you think.

I would personally choose the SC over a Turbo though, just because you get better lower and mid range power compared to a Turbo that has to kick in at specific rpm and a SC is more reliable than a Turbo.. but of course less powerful.

a SC on the GTS would be nice if you could get one INSTALLED for about $1500

You can't even buy the kit for $1500 rolleyes

Spitz, hey it's not like the Celica costs as much as a Ferrari...now I would think twice about racing that sh$#. If you are worried about racing and totaling your car...stay away from the race track...it's not your thing. Knowing whether a condition is safe is one thing, but real racers don't have fear when they go for it.

You can buy the SC & get it installed for less than $3k, which isn't tha bad considering it adds 40hp.

Its over 3g's anyways, cause in order to get the fuel map corrected because of the difference between the rollas of trix's you'd have to buy a PFC or a shitty piggy-back cause of det. problems between 4000 & 5500 rpm. This is why I removed mine. I did 600 worth of dyno tuning and we still couldnt get the ping out. Its not worth it, buy a Turbo or some N2O or better yet just buy a new car thumbsup I tried callin TRD up to find out how they got the TRD S/C celi to work but they wouldnt let much info go.

true, thanks for the heads-up bro... I still might get this if I get bored after I complete the last few mods I'm planning. Just seems like less of a hassle to get Toyota to install and perform routine checks than to have a SF Turbo put in and constantly maintain it - idunno
