Hello,

Okay so I finally took the car to the freeway today (Still learning how to drive a stick) and I notice that there is this loud wind noise, like a *whirring* noise. It is constant and I can only hear it when I am driving 60mph and up.

I was wondering if this sound is common and if not how do I go about finding out the problem? It sounds like I have a fat ass Intake or something, I dunno...

I used to drive an Auto GT but it never sounded like that on the freeway even when I am driving 70mph and up.

Thanks

Its the wind whipping past the outside of your car. You'd hear it in a spaceship landing too.

Just be thankful your car is a hardtop- noise with my top up is LOUD even at onbly 50+

So this is normal? But the GT is not even this loud when I am driving much faster than the GTS.

Sunroof is closed.

The GT has a WW Kit but the GTS is bone stock. The only thing different in the GTS is that it is carrying 2x12" Subs in the trunk.

The noise seems to be coming from the engine or the sides of my car. It is not rattling or anything like that, it is just like a fat as whirring wind noise. It is weird.

Your GTS is fairly quiet?

it could be your undercarage being loosen or your side view mirrior. I have gts and its always those two. And this might sound like a wind, but it could be your tire too.

Undercarage being loosen? How do I go about making it tighter? And the Side View mirror?

I doubt that it is the tire because they are brand new.

i wouldnt know where to check but the bottom pieces that get loose, try gettin new screws from toyota for them if they are weak, or just tighten them yourself with your own screws..

So you are experiencing the same thing? Were you able, or going to try to find a way to make it quiet? I have not been under the car yet, but I will be checking that out on my next day off. Today I took off my Subs.

Wind noise from the mirrors, any method on fixing that?

I dunno about the whole panel thing tho, on my Auto GT, I took all of them off because it started dragging one day. But it is still very quiet.
