Just wondering of the procedure described in the installs section is the same as what the dealership would do if you asked them to do it.

Most likely, yes. Plus, they probably wouldn't do it because (in some areas - like all of Canada) DRLs are mandatory on newer vehicles.

don't even bother your dealer, they'll probably charge you $30 to do it when it takes 5 mins to take off your console and yank out a wire.

Plus, dealers will NOT disable safety features. Mazda wouldn't even disable the seatbelt man on our new Mazda3 until we told them our dog always sits in the passenger seat and its weight makes it go on rofl
