now your idle sounds a bit right, it maybe one line below normal, check your throttle cable..

now that problem from startin off from a stop confused i dont know, check your clutch i guess

that burning smell, is your clutch, dont do that to your car its harmful to the clutch which will affect the car's Performance a lot

for the manual check ebay grin

you're probably burning your clutch by not releasing it fast enough. Just get used to finding the clutch engagment point, give it just enough gas so it engages smoothly and lift off the clutch...don't ride the clutch or slip it. how much experience do you have driving a stick?

i have the same car...idle is fine and for the smell... that is your clutch... you need to release the clutch a little faster and just get used to driving it.

"it just happens whe my rpms all of a sudden drop to 2 to 1 line before 0"

it sounds like your car wants to stall, when you're in first and you're letting off the clutch and giving gas right? you could be right below the engagement point, so let off more but then you need enough gas so you don't stall your car. The longer you take to get off your clutch the more you slipped it and the more likely to smell that burn. maybe it doesn't happen every time b/c somtimes you are on level ground and then sometimes you are going up a slight incline, in which you would need more gas to get going.

it doesn't sound like your clutch is dead b/c your engine wants to stall...and if your engine wants to stall your clutch still has grip. if however, you are at the engagment point and the rpms go very high and you smell a burning smell...then I would say your clutch is dead.

normal idle for the GTS is 800 RPM + - 50, GT is 700 + - 50 RPM (manual) it's higher for automatics.

sounds like you are starting the car in 2nd or 3rd gear for the stalling/smell part.

Try starting in 1st wink

ok i agree its ridiculous i would say if you did not know where it was you sould not be driving it and that is weird about where the reverse is on a GTS sound like its right next to 1st gear instead of after 6th that is where they should have put it like most of every other 6 spds are.

^ Man, you have some very nice parents. I started working when I was 12. I am 20 now and have been working ever since. You can say that I fully paid 2 Celicas. One GT and one GTS. I pray to god that nothing will happen to my car, because I will be dead broke, lol.
