what year is it? although that really won't tell me if it's digital or not. If it's digital, chances are you can hook it up to your computer with a firewire/IEE1394/i.link cable and dump it in using some free utilities on the net. If it's only analog, you've got a lot more problems. Best bet is to find someone who has a more expensive camera and can record analog in, then dump it to digital through their camera.

If s-video is the newest feature you have, you're in trouble. smirk

go to radio shack and ask if they have a module that connects the video camera to the computer.

this way, you can convert regular non-digital movies through the module and then onto the computer. the module thing lets you connect the audio/video wires into it and then has a USB/parallel port that connects to the computer and allows you to stream any hi-8 and a few other as well.

mind you, this piece of equipment may be expensive.

or you can find a friend that has a digital camera that will let you use it and just upload it that way, but then the result does not compare as good this way.

or if you have this thing where you connect the vcr to the pc.. then just run the tape through the vcr and convert it to a file

if you only have s-video ust go to any computer/electronic store (CompUSA, Best Buy, Curcuit City) and by a tuner card. That'll give you an s-video in and the 3 rca connections, and will convert your av(analog) video clip into a dv(digital) video clip if needs be. Then just use the software provided by the card to transfer the video onto your computer in either mpg or avi.

I went by OfficeMAx today, and by chance found a program and hardware to get my video from my camera to my computer (rca / s-video to USB connector)...and its only like $80!! I'm gonna get it here soon, so I can start posting my videos for everyone (gonna get a Kazuma video soon too, so we'll have a video for people to make their minds up about KAzuma, rather than have to ask and just get told its super loud rolleyes) thumbsup thumbsup...and I might even post a video of the next track day I get a chance to take at Road Atlanta!!! (just so long as I can get a passenger brave enough to go with me to video it)
